Providence Academy names new girls basketball coach in Burns

Former Oak Hill Academy coach Michael Burns has been pegged to take over Providence Academy’s girls program. Knights athletic director George Pitts made the announcement on Tuesday.

“I’m happy to announce that Michael Burns, who was the boys basketball assistant coach, has been promoted to the head girls basketball coach,” Pitts said in a press release from the school. “Coach Burns’ background in coaching at Oak Hill Academy and Providence Academy has prepared him for this opportunity. I’m excited about our boys and girls basketball programs at Providence Academy.”
