Cyclones Hold Steady, ‘Landers Reenter AP Poll

Elizabethton held steady while Cloudland reentered the AP Tennessee Prep Football polls after Week 3 action.

In Class 4A, the Cyclones tallied 156 points and a first-place vote to remain ranked No. 3 in the poll. EHS, who rolled past Grainger in Week 3 action, is five points behind No. 2 Greeneville, and just 13 points behind No. 1 Pearl-Cohn.

Upperman and Hardin County rounded out the top five.

In Class A, Cloudland reentered the poll at the No. 10 spot. The ‘Landers tallied 20 points after rolling past Hanock County in Week 3 action and came in just five points behind No. 9 Sale Creek, and 11 points behind No. 8 Union City.

South Pittsburg tallied 13-of-18 first-place votes to take the top spot with Dresden and Coalfield coming in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

In Class 2A, Hampton fell out of this week’s poll after falling at Pisgah (N.C.). The Bulldogs were just 15 points behind No. 10 Mt. Pleasant.
