Here’s a look at how Madison County teams are doing regarding the postseason.

Golf
Tori Robinson won the girls’ Division II-A West region tournament for Trinity Christian and qualified for state. University School of Jackson’s Josie Porter and Nora Manley also qualified for the state tournament this week too.
Jackson Christian boys finished runner-up as a team and also will be headed to state.
In Division I, Madison had a pair of golfers qualify for state as individuals. Chad Joyner won the boys’ tournament when he shot an 83 at Milan Country Club on Monday. Nora Manly finished second when she shot a 105.
Cross Country
The state cross country races will happen the first weekend in November. Local teams will compete in region races later this month.
The Region 7 A-AA race will be in Martin on Oct. 24.
For Division II, their region race will be on Oct. 26 in Memphis.
Soccer
Division II starts its postseason this week, and Division I starts next week.
University School of Jackson finished the regular season with a record of 10-2-1. The Lady Bruins will host their first matchup on Thursday, Oct. 5, against Northpoint. This will be their first postseason game as they try for a third straight state championship.
Trinity Christian will also be playing at home, hosting Harding Academy.
Jackson Christian will be on the road at St. George’s, and Lausanne is at Evangelical Christian for the other quarterfinal game.
In Division I, Madison will play in District 14-A semifinals on Tuesday at Gibson County against Milan. If Madison wins, the championship is on Thursday, also at Gibson County.
North Side and South Side also open play in District 12-AA. North Side will host Hardin County on Thursday.
Volleyball
University School of Jackson is the only local team remaining in Division II, and the Lady Bruins finished third in the region tournament they hosted last week.
Their next game is on Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Christian School according to the USJ Volleyball Twitter account.
They will play the No. 4 team from the East region for a spot in the state quarterfinals against Providence Christian Academy, a team from Murfreesboro.
If USJ wins on Tuesday, the quarterfinals will be on Saturday, Oct. 10 with the semifinals and championship happening the following week.
In Division I, the local community of remaining volleyball teams will be making a mass trek into Middle Tennessee in the early part of this week.
Madison lost to Huntingdon in five sets in District 12-A. Both teams will travel to Loretto for the Region 6-A tournament on Monday. Huntingdon plays Summertown at 6 p.m. Madison plays the hosting Lady Mustangs at 7, and the championship match is at 8 p.m.
The teams that qualify for the championship will both move on to substate later in the week with the champion hosting the Region 5-A runner-up and the loser traveling to the Region 5-A champion with the winners of both matches moving on to state.
In Class AA, South Side is in a similar situation to Madison’s.
The Lady Hawks fell in the District 12-AA championship to Lexington in four sets. Both teams will travel to Creek Wood for the Region 6-AA tournament on Tuesday.
South Side plays Creek Wood in the second match of the night with the championship match happening later in the evening.
The teams that advance will move on to sectionals and will play for a berth in the state tournament next week.
