Unaka was unable to extend their season on Friday night.
The Rangers dropped a 63-8 decision to Coalfield in the first round of the TSSAA Class A playoffs on the road.
With the loss, Unaka’s season comes to an end with a 2-9 mark.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out early.
Coalfield took a 13-0 lead six minutes into the game and pushed the advantage to 27-0 after a quarter of play.
The Yellow Jackets continued to hold the momentum in the second quarter.
Unaka continued to battle and got on the board when Brynin Repass threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah White for a score. Repass added the two-point conversion.
Unaka trailed 56-8 at the half.
The Rangers continued to fight in the second half but were unable to get back on the scoreboard.
