RUTLEDGE — Behind 15 points and three steals from Haley Rush, Unicoi County flattened Hancock County 61-24 in Grainger Thanksgiving Classic activity Wednesday.
Rush posted a 6-of-11 shooting performance, converting three of her six 3-point attempts.
Teammate Faith Bennett contributed 13 points while Allie Lingerfelt coupled seven points with four steals. Abigail Vidrio handed out five assists and Laney Rogers stole the basketball three times.
After edging Cumberland Gap on Tuesday, the Lady Blue Devils (6-1) will play their third and final Grainger Classic contest on Friday.
Unicoi County 52, Cumberland Gap 50
RUTLEDGE — Allie Lingerfelt accounted for 18 points, Haley Rush and Faith Bennett added 13 apiece, and Unicoi County pulled out a tight win.
Rush, who sank six of her 10 shots attempts, and Bennett also produced four assists apiece.
Lingerfelt had a tough shooting night (5-of-17) but did knock down four 3-pointers. Noell Farner garnered five rebounds and two steals before fouling out for the Lady Blue Devils.
Greeneville 80, Sullivan East 47
BLUFF CITY — Kyla Jobe totaled 16 points, Abby Adkins netted 16 of her own and Greeneville breezed to a victory in the Food City Thanksgiving Classic.
The Lady Greene Devils put two other players in double-digit scoring as Jordan Swatzell hit for 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Anna Shaw tallied 13.
Outscored 47-17 over the course of the second and third quarters, the Lady Patriots were paced by Paulina Hofer (12 points) and Sophie Johnson (11).
