615 Preps Boys Basketball Rankings: BGA ups win streak to 10 games

0 0

After a week off thanks to Mother Nature, basketball returned to the 615 last week in force. As teams knocked some rust off, there were bound to be changes in this week’s 615 Preps basketball rankings.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Rankings are based on overall success and current form for each teams. While teams may have beaten each other earlier in the season, we look at the current form of teams compared to each other.

With that in mind, here’s a look at this week’s 615 Preps large and small class boys rankings:

Large Class

1. Siegel (19-2): Blackman tested the Stars to open the week as Siegel escaped ‘The Furnace’ with a 56-52 win. Riverdale didn’t provide much of a challenge with Siegel cruising to the 61-32 win Friday night.

2. Brentwood Academy (18-5): The Eagles planted themselves back at the top in our coverage area when it comes to DII-AA private schools as they pulled away in the fourth to beat Pope Prep 70-55. Earlier in the week they also beat Father Ryan 59-51 and crushed Ensworth 66-39 with Tyler Tanner averaging 24 points between the three games.

3. Pope John Paul II (18-3): It was a weird week for the Knights who needed a last-second dunk to beat MBA. Their offense came out slow against Brentwood Academy and ultimately cost them on the road against the Eagles.

4 Hillsboro (14-3): Cane Ridge gave the Burros a score but Hillsboro ultimately secured the 56-49. McGavock and Hunters Lane didn’t provide much of a challenge at all with the Burros winning those two by an average of 52 points.

5. Franklin (15-4): The Admirals just keep finding ways to win close games. They opened the week with a 60-39 win over Page before hitting the road and beating Ravenwood 51-49 and Brentwood 63-59.
