CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Tuesday night, the Kenwood High boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted the Northwest High Vikings for a pair of basketball matchups, however, the boys’ game ended in a manner that no one expected.

In the fourth quarter of action, a Kenwood administrator asked all spectators to leave the game with around three minutes left in regulation play, according to CMCSS spokesperson Anthony Johnson.

An anonymous source who attended the game told Clarksville Now players on each team began to shove one another, which led to a scuffle between Kenwood and Northwest players. When tensions began to rise on the court, opposing fan bases in the stands began to have words with one another, and that led to the spectators being asked to leave.

The school system said the administrator made the decision “out of an abundance of caution due to some contentiousness.” CMCSS declined to give any further explanation until they complete witness interviews and investigations.

Kenwood High won the game 56-51.
