CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery Central High School boys’ wrestling team continued their stellar season by winning a regional team title at the TSSAA Region 7 Class A Championships.

In the end, the Indians landed 3 individual regional champs, 12 medalists, 13 sectional qualifiers and 14 total placers. To cap it off, head coach Steve Heberer won the Region 7 Coach of the Year Award. Here’s the individual results:

Leading the way for Montgomery Central were three regional champions, as freshman Jackson Key won the title at 120 pounds, junior Immanuel Gilmore won it at 190 pounds and senior Reese Levendusky avenged one of his losses earlier this season to beat James Lawson School’s Luke Khanthavong in the finals 4-2.

Levendusky was also nominated for Wrestler of the Year, though the award ultimately went to Cheatham’s Adan Alvarez.

In all, 13 Montgomery Central wrestlers advanced to the sectional state qualifier next week in Harpeth. The Indians won the team race with 209 points over 2nd place Fairview who came in at 196.5. Cheatham County was 3rd with 195 points.
