Jenna Hare scored more points than any basketball player in the history of Sullivan East High School and she is still making shots.
The freshman had 25 points, six rebounds, two assists and one block on Feb. 8 for Milligan University in a 100-81 Appalachian Athletic Conference women’s hoops win over the Columbia College Koalas in South Carolina.
Hare was 8-for-13 from the field – including a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range – and 5-for-6 at the free throw line.
“It was great to see her light it up against Columbia,” said Milligan coach Kylie Russell Greer. “Not only did she score 25, but she was very efficient that night and I am not sure if we win that game without her.”
Hare is averaging 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14 games for the Buffaloes and has twice tallied double-digit point totals. She scored 2,570 points during her four seasons at East.

“Jenna is a great player and has been a great addition to our program for far more than her basketball abilities,” Greer said. “Jenna’s biggest transition was adjusting to our style of defense and just learning our system. These can be hard adjustments for any freshman. She has really turned a corner in the last couple of months and has become a contributor for us.
“In addition, on the defensive end, Jenna has taken at least four charges in the last few games which brings a fun spark to our team.”
