Elizabethton softball rolled to an opening-day win against a county foe on Monday evening.
The Lady Cyclones stormed to a 20-0 win over Hampton on the debut of the new turf infield at Elizabethton.
The Lady Cyclones jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and pushed the advantage to 8-0 after two innings.
Hampton continued to battle but was unable to get anything going offensively as the Lady Bulldogs were limited to just one hit.
Mollie Johnson went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead EHS, while Emma O’Quinn had three hits and four RBI.
Mikinna Blackwell went 4-for-4. Johnson picked up the win in the pitching circle.
Briley Davis recorded a hit for the Lady Bulldogs, and she also struck out two EHS battlers in the pitching circle.
