Tullahoma High School softball team opened the 2024 season at home hosting Grundy County and won 16-1 in three innings without allowing a hit.
Amaya Sharp started on the bump for the Lady ‘Cats. She struck out four batters in two innings. Two batters were walked. The first batter of the game for Grundy took a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch then stole third base. She scored on a ground out for the second out of the inning. Anzley Holloway took the ball for the third inning and got three outs on nine pitches. She faced four batters, one batter was hit by a pitch.
Tullahoma racked up 12 hits and six walks at the plate. Seven different ‘Cats got a hit and four players drew a walk. Addyson Norman and Madison Goad led the team with three hits each. Olivia Lynch had two hits. Kylee Holt, Elizabeth Simpson, Brinley Gillam and Miaha Johnson all had a hit each. Gillam and Goad ripped doubles. Kaitlynn Gattis hit a sac fly to left field in the second inning. Holt drew three walks. Sara Tate, Gillam and Margaret Lynch walked once.
Norman led the team with three RBI. Goad and Gillam both had two RBI. Holt, Gattis and Lynch had one RBI each.
The Lady Wildcats host Webb tonight at 5:30 with Madison Barnett throwing out the first pitch at 5:15.Â
