CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – West Creek High head football coach Rob Gallowitz announced on Wednesday night that he plans to step away from coaching to accept a new position in real estate.

“It has been an honor to serve as your Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the last 4 years,” said Gallowitz on social media. “Thank you for trusting the process and working alongside me to move this program forward. You did everything we asked and saw fruits of your labor. You changed the reputation of West Creek for the better. If I can ever help you in life, you have my number. The best is yet to come.”

Gallowitz told Clarksville Now that if he wanted to accept the real estate position he was offered, the time to do so was now.

“I did not want to stick them (West Creek Athletics) with no head coach in June or July, and then they have only a few weeks before their first game. I did not want to risk putting someone in a bad spot and didn’t want them to have to rush this process,” Gallowitz said.

He added to his comments by saying while he didn’t want to leave his position as West Creek’s head football coach, he is grateful for the time with the school and the program.

“I’ve had wonderful support from everybody in my time here, especially administration,” said Gallowitz. “I had nine assistants, and most of them were teachers, and they all bought in to what we were trying to do. Having kids that were bought in and going to class, I’m forever grateful for that.”

Gallowitz took a program that had won just 28 games in 13 years and turned them into a playoff program in their second year, their first postseason berth since 2010. Before his time at West Creek, Gallowtiz served as an assistant under Isaac Shelby at Clarksville High School and graduated from Austin Peay.
