The Tullahoma High School boys’ tennis team beat Moore County 6-1 for their fourth win of the week. The Lady Wildcats were declawed by the Raiderettes in a 7-0 loss.
The Wildcats won four of the five singles matches. Ryan Tenison defeated Neal Childress 8-1 in the number one match. Luke Reagan beat Sayan Patel 8-1. Logan Zimecki won on the third court 8-4 against Sawyer Parks. Eli Martinez won his match against Marshall Higuet 8-2. Norman Zhang lost a close match to Grey Rogers 6-8. Tullahoma swept the doubles matches. The pair of Tenison and Reagan won the first doubles match 8-1 against Childress and Patel. Zimecki and Martinez took the other doubles match 8-3 against Parks and Rogers.
The ‘Cats beat Marshall County Monday 6-1 then beat Franklin County 6-1 on Tuesday. They also beat Shelbyville 4-3 Wednesday to open the season undefeated.
The Lady Wildcats were overpowered by the Raiderettes. Natalie Turpin lost to Audrey Harder 1-8. Lexa Barnes lost to Anna Harder 0-8. Hope Thomas lost to Jada Ivey 5-8, Mary Pierce Jordan fell to Abby Day 5-8 and Isla Scott was defeated by Aubree Hernandez 0-8. The Harder girls also beat Turpin and Barnes in the first doubles match 8-1. Thomas and Jordan lost a competitive 6-8 match against Ivey and Day.
The Lady ‘Cats had a rough start to the season losing three of four matches in the first week. Their lone win came against Franklin County 5-2 on Tuesday.
Tullahoma is off next week for Spring Break but return to the courts on Tues, March 26 at home against Lawrence County at 4 p.m.
