The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Wilson Central Lady Wildcats 5-0 at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville Saturday in their fourth and final game for the Commando Classic.
The Rebelettes fell behind early in the contest and weren’t able to break through for a score as they ended the event with a record of 0-4.
Jocilyn DeSmet hit a two-out double in the top of the second for what would be one of only two hits for the Rebelettes in the contest, but a groundout ended the inning before she could advance any further.
The Lady Wildcats had their first four runners reach base in the bottom of the second with four of them coming around to score to put Franklin County in a 4-0 hole.
The Lady Wildcats tacked on another run in the bottom of the third on a two-out RBI double to push the deficit to 5-0 early.
Kaitlyn Montgomery led off the top of the fifth with a single, but she would remain there through the end of the frame after three consecutive fly outs, and the contest would end one batter into the sixth inning as the time limit for the contest ran out.
Kaylee Morris pitched all five innings for the Rebelettes with two strikeouts, eight hits, four walks and five runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-6 on the season.
Beech 13, Rebelettes 1
The Rebelettes lost to the Beech Lady Buccaneers 13-1 at Drakes Creek Park Saturday in their third game for the Commando Classic.
The Lady Buccaneers scored a majority of their runs in the top of the second with the game ending after just two innings due to the tournament’s time limit for games.
The Lady Buccaneers capitalized off of a few Franklin County errors to score a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
The Lady Buccaneers then sent 16 batters to the plate in the top of the second and scored 11 total runs for the frame with a few more errors from the Rebelettes helping to extend the inning.
The Rebelettes did avoid a shutout in the shortened contest as Mollye Casey reached base on a fielder’s choice, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored off of an error on a ball hit by Emery Wilkerson in the bottom of the second to put the final deficit at 12.
Morris pitched the first inning for the Rebelettes with one strikeout, no hits, one walk and two unearned runs allowed.
Miley DeSmet followed in relief with one inning pitched, five hits, five walks, four earned runs and six unearned runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-5 on the season.
Nolensville 7, Rebelettes 1
The Rebelettes lost to the Nolensville Lady Knights 7-1 at Drakes Creek Park Saturday in their second game for the Commando Classic.
A four-run first inning from the Lady Knights put the Rebelettes in a hole that they couldn’t work out as they took their second defeat of the day.
A trio of errors from Franklin County’s defense in the bottom of the first set the Lady Knights up for a high-scoring frame as the Rebelettes trailed 4-0 early.
The Rebelettes got their lone run in the contest in the top of the third as Raelyn Wainwright came through with a two-out RBI double to make it a 4-1 game.
However, Nolensville’s cleanup hitter hit a solo shot to start the bottom of the third, and another Nolensville run was scored a few batters later to put the deficit at 6-1.
Another solo home run was hit by Nolensville’s cleanup hitter in the bottom of the fifth, and the game hit its time limit moments later as the Rebelettes lost by six.
Morris pitched a complete game for the Rebelettes with one strikeout, six hits, two walks, two earned runs and five unearned runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-4 on the season.
Farragut 5, Rebelettes 0
The Rebelettes lost to the Farragut Lady Admirals 5-0 at Drakes Creek Park Saturday in their first game for the Commando Classic.
The Rebelettes were held to just one hit in the four inning contest as the Lady Admirals pulled ahead early and maintained a comfortable edge the rest of the way.
Franklin County’s lone hit for the contest came in the top of the first as Kyleigh DeCamp hit a two-out single before a strikeout stranded her at first base.
The Lady Admirals scored three runs before recording their first out and added one more run later in the first inning to make it a 4-0 game early.
The Lady Admirals scored one more time in the bottom of the third to grow the deficit to five with the time limit for the game running out midway through the fourth inning.
Miley DeSmet pitched the first two innings for the Rebelettes with four hits, six walks and four runs allowed.
Dalayna Marshall pitched the remaining 1 2-3 innings with one strikeout, two hits, one walk and one unearned run allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-3 on the season.
They will next play Monday at Moore County High School. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
