KINGSPORT — The long ball went a long way for Dobyns-Bennett’s baseball team Tuesday night.
Cam Hayworth and Andrew Reilly both left the yard in the Indians’ 8-3 win over West Ridge at J. Fred Johnson Stadium.
Tegan Begley went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs, and Reilly also doubled in a 2-for-4 day for the Tribe (6-0).
Ean Mays struck out eight in six innings of work to record the win.
Kade Oliver and Morgan Ward each went 2-for-3 to lead West Ridge.
Grainger 14, Volunteer 7
RUTLEDGE — The Grizzlies swept their way past the Falcons in their first conference series of the season. Jaxon Maxey hit a two-run homer in the fifth, part of Grainger’s 13 runs over the game’s final three frames.
Brayden Christian picked up the win after striking out seven across six innings of work.
Connor Haynes and Austin Williams both had two hits for the Falcons, Haynes scoring twice while Williams batted in three runs.
Tennessee High 5, Sullivan East 1
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Cainan Myers threw a complete game for the Vikings (5-1), striking out a baker’s dozen while just allowing two hits.
Bryson Hutton went 2-for-3 out of the two-hole, hitting a double and driving home a pair of runs.
TK Crowder went 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Patriots.
Science Hill 7, Daniel Boone 5
JOHNSON CITY — Jackson Berry hit a three-run inside-the-park homer to put Science Hill (6-2) ahead for good as part of a five-run sixth.
Berry added a sacrifice fly. Nate Stoots and Major Osbolt doubled in runs, and Josh Marmo went 2-for-3.
Caden Wells struck out all three batters in the seventh for the save. Sam Royston was credited the win.
Chandler Justice and Ben Stevens each went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Trailblazers, and Slader Tinker drove in two runs.

KINGSPORT — Nate Walters went the distance for the Pioneers (2-2), allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
Walters had an RBI double and walked twice, and AJ Ford added a double for Crockett.

GLADE SPRING — The Spartans unleashed a four-run seventh to stay undefeated.
Clay Ward finished 5-for-5, including two doubles, with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tanner Perry was 3-for-3 and he, Keldan Hamilton, Christopher Steele and Gabe Raymond all doubled for Eastside.
Will Johnson got the win in relief after allowing one run in the final two innings.
Lee High 17, Twin Springs 1
BEN HUR — Jacob Leonard went 4-for-5 with a triple and two doubles, batting in two and scoring four times for the Generals (2-0). Virgil Hobbs and Chase Pierce both had one double and one single.
Hobbs, the starter, got the win. He and Clay Robbins each struck out four over 2 1/3 innings.
Andrew Meyers doubled for the Titans.
Ridgeview 14, John I. Burton 2
NORTON — Austin Rose went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored for the Wolfpack (1-1). Will Mullins hit a three-run blast in the fourth and finished 2-for-3.
Rose pitched a complete game, striking out 10 and allowing one earned run.
Brandon Edwards went 2-for-3 for Burton.
Abingdon 11, Wise Central 0
ABINGDON — Jett Humphreys hit a three-run homer in the first and the Falcons (4-0) soared past the Warriors to secure the win in their Mountain 7 District opener.
Landon Turman earned the win after going four innings of one-hit ball. He also punched out seven without allowing a free pass.

Union 18, John I. Burton 8
NORTON — The Lady Bears (3-0) scored in every frame but the second.
Kynlee Johnson went 2-for-4 with a two-run blast. Aliyah Davidson doubled twice, with Keelie Sutphin and Braleigh Mullins both hitting a double and a single.
Reliever Makenna Rasnick gave up just one earned run in three innings.
Maci Sensabaugh and Jordan Frazier had a double and two singles apiece, and Makayla McCurdy homered for Burton.
Tennessee High 6, Lebanon 4
BRISTOL, Tenn. — After Carly Compton’s solo home run tied the game in the seventh, Macie Strouth hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth, completing the Lady Vikings’ rally from a 4-0 deficit.
Abigail Haga and Addie Wilhoit also went yard. Haga finished a triple shy of the cycle.
Compton fanned 10 over five hitless innings to get the win in relief.
Greeneville 15, Cherokee 5
GREENEVILLE — Kyla Jobe and Kaley Garland homered in the first, highlighting a five-run frame for Greeneville. Madison Carpenter (4-for-4) and Stoan Rader both doubled twice, and Lauren Million went 3-for-3.
Leah Phillips went five innings in the circle, earning a win after allowing three earned runs and striking out seven.
Kennedy Dishner, who hit a two-run bomb in the third, and Shelby Helton both had two hits.
Science Hill 9, West Ridge 0
BLOUNTVILLE — Isabel Meeks went the distance in the circle, allowing only one hit and one walk while recording a dozen strikeouts as the Lady Hilltoppers opened conference play with a shutout win.
Maddie Diamond clubbed a three-run homer in the second inning for a 6-0 lead. Lora Wilgus had a pair of hits, including a double, and Chloe Conner had two RBIs.

JONESBOROUGH — Brylee Tullock went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and a pair of runs scored to power the Lady Pioneers to the Upper Lakes Conference win.
Madelyn Dulaney, who was 2-for-3 with a double, tossed five innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out 10. Cara Wilson pitched the first two frames to get the win.

KINGSPORT — Gavin Farmer found the back of the net twice for the Tribe (4-1), took 27-2 shots — 16 on goal. Junsung Montanaro and Abijah Powers also scored for D-B.
Lucas Park (2), Andy Salas and Adrian Calo accounted for the Indians’ assists. Ossie Franklin and Ethan Cline made one save each.
Gate City 9, Richlands 0
RICHLANDS — Alex Eastman netted a hat trick plus one to lead the Blue Devils (2-0) to a road victory. Sam Casteel scored twice and assisted on three goals, Garrett McLain scored twice and Alex Smith tallied once.
Bryson Smith made three saves in the win.
Portland 4, David Crockett 2
JONESBOROUGH — Jael Rodriguez scored two goals unassisted in the first half to give the Pioneers a 2-1 halftime lead, but Portland owned the final 40 minutes.
Bradley Gouge made 13 saves for Crockett.
