The Lady Tigers briefly tied the score at 3-3 after pushing a run across in the top of the second, but the Lady Hornets then put up six runs in the bottom of the second to create some major separation.
Huntland’s scoring in the second inning included Emily Stewart crossing home plate off of an error on a ball hit by Analyn Riddle, Smith hitting an RBI single, May contributing a two-run double before scoring off of an error on a ball hit by Finchum and Stewart coming through with an RBI single to put the early lead at 9-3.

The last three runs of the day for Huntland came on consecutive home runs in the bottom of the fourth as a two-run shot from Gardner was followed by a solo home run from May.
The Lady Tigers weren’t able to make a dent in the deficit in the top of the fifth with the game ending from there due to the mercy rule.
