Elizabethton was unable to battle back from an early deficit on Thursday.
The Cyclones dropped a hard-fought 13-2 decision to Dobyns-Bennett in nonconference action at Joe O’Brien Field.
DB opened the game with four runs in the top of the first and added three more in the top of the second. EHS added single runs in the home side of the second and third but was unable to mount a rally.
Bryson Rowland went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Steven Meadows, Justin Whitehead, Jeriah Griffin, and Andrew Blevins each added a hit.
Whitehead had an RBI for EHS.
