Tennessee High 14, Unicoi County 10
Science Hill 2, Tennessee High 1
Tennessee High dropped two of its three games on Saturday in the East Tennessee Classic as the Vikings were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten, but freshman Addie Wilhoit continued her phenomenal freshman season.
Wilhoit had two hits in the loss to Lakota East from Ohio, went 4-for-4 with a home run, scored thrice and tallied six RBIs against Unicoi County and homered in accounting for Tennessee High’s only run in the setback to Science Hill.
In total she was 7-for-9 with two home runs and seven RBIs on the day.
Lakota East had nine hits and walked five times against THS ace Carly Compton in handing the Vikings their first loss of 2024. Macie Strouth had two RBIs in the loss.
Against Unicoi County, Wilhoit’s walloping helped pitcher Delaney Linkous pick up her first varsity win in the circle. Lily Ware added two hits and two RBIs against the Blue Devils. THS erupted for 10 runs in the fourth inning.
Wilhoit’s solo blast against Science Hill in the sixth inning was one of just two hits the Vikings managed against Hilltoppers ace Isabel Meeks.
The Vikings went 3-2 in the event and are 8-2 overall.
