CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Following the conclusion of the 2023-24 girls’ high school basketball season, it’s time to honor players representing Montgomery County schools with the Clarksville Now All-Area Girls’ Basketball Team and Player of the Year.

There’s a variety of talented individuals who make up each high school team, but these players separated themselves from the rest. All statistics were contributed by Clarksville-area coaches, and the players are listed by school in alphabetical order and graduating class.

Clarksville Now All-Area Girls’ Basketball Team

Senior Guard: Malaya Woullard, Clarksville Academy – Woullard was the primary ball handler for the young Cougar squad this past season. She finished 2024 averaging 17.5 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists per game. Woullard also shot 78% from the charity stripe.

Senior Guard: Imari Berry, Clarksville High – Berry was selected as a McDonald’s All-American, the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and the class 4A Miss Basketball Award winner during the 2024 season. Berry also became the Wildcats all-time point scorer and helped lead her team to undefeated regular season and a second straight state tournament appearance. She averaged 23 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during her senior season.

Senior Forward/Center: Ella Moore, Clarksville High – Moore held down the inside for her Wildcat squad and was a defensive force this past year. Offensively, she was miss reliable, shooting 55% from the field and averaged 7.6 points per game. She also brought down 5.5 rebounds per game.

Senior Forward/Center: Kendall Myree, Northwest High – Myree averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds per game during the 2024 season. She remained a constant inside threat while shooting 45% from the field. Meanwhile, on defense, she averaged 1.8 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.

Senior forward: Torri James, Rossview High – A Western Kentucky women’s basketball signee, James averaged 15.2 points per game on an effective 52% shooting. James totaled over 1,000 points for her career this past season. Defensively, she had a nose for the ball, averaging 2.6 steals per game. In addition, James also averaged 8.2 rebounds per game in 2023-24.

Senior Guard: Madzi Calloway, West Creek High – Calloway was a slashing playmaker for the Coyote offense, averaging 17 points per game. Defensively, she created turnovers and fast break opportunities each game which led to an average of 5 steals per game.

Underclassmen

Junior Guard: Malon Smith, Clarksville High – Smith served as the primary ball handler for the Clarksville High state tournament team. She facilitated the offense at a high level and averaged 13.3 points per game on 42% shooting, which included shooting 37% from three.

Junior Guard: Rosella Rajj, Fort Campbell High – Rajj was the leading scorer for the Falcons this season with an average of 15.6 points per game. She also shot 37.5% from the field during her junior year.

Junior Guard: Qimara Summers, Northeast High – Summers was a slashing force offensively for the Lady Eagles, averaging 12 points per game. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 steals per game.

Sophomore Forward/Center: Ellie Hankemeier, Rossview High – Hankemeier was a consistent scorer for the Hawks, scoring 9.7 points per game on an effective 57% shooting. The sophomore was also able to secure 6.2 rebounds per game this season.

Freshmen Forward: Lauren Hassell, Clarksville Christian – Hassell played a crucial part in the Lady Centurions win in the NACA National Championship for third straight year. As just a freshmen, Hassell averaged 19.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.2 blocks and 2.6 steals per game during the 2023-24 season.

Freshmen Center: Marley Spiers, Clarksville Christian – Spiers was another player that played a major role in the Centurions third straight NACA National Championship. She averaged 6.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this year.

Freshmen Forward: Davia Collins, Kirkwood High – Collins led a first year Cobra team with her inside scoring and consistently crashing the boards. Collins averaged 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Freshman of the Year

Kirkwood High freshman forward Davia Collins helped lead the Cobras team to their first-ever postseason appearance, which included a win in their first district tournament matchup. Throughout the season, Collins consistently found ways to score on the interior and crashed the backboard for offensive and defensive rebounds. She averaged 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Team of the Year

The Clarksville High Lady Wildcats 2023-24 team completed the second undefeated regular season in the city’s history, while continuing their undefeated streak into the state tournament. A historic season for the Wildcats that ended with a 31-1 record.

Clarksville Now Player of the Year

Clarksville High senior guard Imari Berry earns Clarksville Now Player of the Year honors after another record-breaking season.

Berry was not only voted the Miss Basketball Award for the first time in Clarksville history, but also led her team to a perfect regular season record, their second straight state tournament berth and broke Basharra Graves all-time scoring record in program history. Berry averaged a total of 23 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during her senior season.

Berry recently decided to reopen her recruitment to decide where she’ll be attending college next fall. She had previously been set to attend Clemson University, but after some coaching changes, decommitted from the institution and women’s basketball program.
