The Baylor Red Raiders traveled to Gainesville, GA Monday night to take on the high school national champions Johnson High School. After trailing, 1-0 at the half, the Red Raiders ended up losing 4-1.
Johnson's first goal came in the 35th minute off a throw in. It was 1-0 at the half.
Johnson went up 3-0 with a goal in the 55th and 57th minute. Baylor scored their lone goal in the 76th minute when Marshall Bible scored off a Alberth Valcarcel free kick.
Johnson's final goal came in the 78th minute off a long shot.
"We are always trying to play the hardest schedule that we can play, and we found it tonight," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said.
"There is a reason they are defending national champs. I thought as the game went along, we got stretched and didn't do a good job of staying compact. We play quality teams to show areas that we need to improve, and they did that for us."
Baylor is now 5-1-1 on the season and Johnson is 12-1-1.
