KINGSPORT — Brogan McGhee and Bryson Broadwater each scored two goals for the Dobyns-Bennett soccer team Thursday night.
And it was just enough as the Tribe held off Morristown East 4-3 at Indian Highland Park Thursday night.
Joseph Ramirez had given Morristown East a 2-0 halftime lead before the Indians (5-1) came to life. McGhee scored twice to equalize, assisted by Andy Salas and Cooper McLain respectively. Wyatt Arrowood set up both of Broadwater’s goals, the latter building a 4-2 lead in the 70th minute.
The Tribe took 22 shots to Morristown East’s 10, including a 16-6 advantage on goal. Ethan Cline made three saves for D-B, with Manuel Juarez making 12 stops for the Hurricanes.

GRAY — Caleb Mason scored twice to help the Trailblazers (3-3) even their overall record. C.J. Lizotte and Emma Salas added one goal apiece.

JOHNSON CITY — Kendall Burton found the back of the net unassisted to help the Wolves preserve a draw.
Avian Pate scored for the Buccaneers, on a Matthew Roberts assist.
Abingdon 2, Wise Central 1
ABINGDON — Mason Sollien and Rylan Kreps both found the back of the net to keep Abingdon’s unbeaten record intact.
Science Hill 3, Jefferson County 2
DANDRIDGE — Having played to a 2-2 halftime draw, Science Hill got the winning goal from Iden Brown against a potential Region 1-AAA tournament foe.
Palmer Kind and Samuel Moody had both scored for the Hilltoppers in the first half. Ian Almaroad and Grant Gibbons each made one assist, while Foster Childress tallied five saves.

ABINGDON — The Lady Falcons took sole possession of first place in the Mountain 7 District with Thursday’s victory. Eliza Burcher provided the lone goal.

Daniel Boone 13, Elizabethton 5
ELIZABETHTON — Ben Stevens’ two-run bomb helped the Trailblazers put away Elizabethton with a six-run seventh inning. Graham Jones hit a triple and a double, and Tim McGonigle singled twice. Both players batted in two runs.
Liam Strouth pitched 4 1/3 innings to get the win, striking out two.
J.D. Hooks (3-for-3) and Steven Meadows (2-for-4, double) led the Cyclones, who took a 3-1 lead to the fifth inning.
Cherokee 8, Morristown East 7
MORRISTOWN — The Chiefs led 8-4 before surviving a late rally by Morristown East, despite being outhit 11-7. Jake Elliott (double) and Manning Brooks (2 RBIs, 2 runs) both had two hits for Cherokee.
Jacob Brooks struck out six in 4 2/3 innings to get the win, before Noah Hunter recorded the save.
Connor Southard (3-for-4) drove in three runs for the Hurricanes.
Tennessee High 5, Chapmanville (W.Va.) 1
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Chandler Myers went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead Tennessee High’s eight-hit effort.
Jimmy Phipps struck out two over the first five innings, before Cainan Meyers fanned six over the last two frames.

KINGSPORT — Walker Cox pitched a five-inning no-hitter for the Green Wave, striking out eight and walking just one. Levi Recio, Braxton Patton and Peyton Anders (double, 3 RBIs) all had two hits.
