DANDRIDGE — Having played to a halftime draw, Science Hill got the winning goal from Iden Brown against a potential Region 1-AAA tournament foe.
Brown’s goal was the only score of the second half, as the Hilltoppers won at Jefferson County 3-2.
Palmer Kind and Samuel Moody had both scored for the Hilltoppers in the first half. Ian Almaroad and Grant Gibbons each made one assist, while Foster Childress tallied five saves.

GRAY — Caleb Mason scored twice to help the Trailblazers (3-3) even their overall record. C.J. Lizotte and Emma Salas added one goal apiece.

Kendall Burton found the back of the net unassisted to help the Wolves preserve a draw.
Avian Pate scored for the Buccaneers, on a Matthew Roberts assist.
Providence Academy 2, The King’s Academy 0
Ian Meade accounted for both goals, Cage Merkel assisting one and J.J. Poff assisting the other, as the Knights grabbed their first district win (1-2).
Austin Beckner made four saves to get the clean sheet. And PA coach Michael Cash also praised defenders Jasper Williams, Drew Ballard, Cooper Phillips and Fischer Dean for their efforts.
BASEBALL
Daniel Boone 13, Elizabethton 5
ELIZABETHTON — Ben Stevens’ two-run bomb helped the Trailblazers put away Elizabethton with a six-run seventh inning. Graham Jones hit a triple and a double, and Tim McGonigle singled twice. Both players batted in two runs.
Liam Strouth pitched 4 1/3 innings to get the win, striking out two.
J.D. Hooks (3-for-3) and Steven Meadows (2-for-4, double) led the Cyclones, who took a 3-1 lead to the fifth inning.
Happy Valley 19, Cloudland 2
ROAN MOUNTAIN — Tucker Shoun went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Warriors, who drew 10 walks with just four hits.
Cade Kendall pitched 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts to get the win.
Jon Townsend hit an RBI double for Cloudland.
Hampton 17, Tri-Cities Christian 5
HAMPTON — Chance Point (2-for-4) scored three times, hitting a solo inside-the-park home run and a triple from his leadoff spot. Chase Davenport, Jayden Kuhn (double) and Elisha Henson all went 2-for-3 and scored three times, with Landon Buchanan adding two hits as well.
Noah Nichols struck out five in three innings of work to get the win.
Tucker Henry hit 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Tri-Cities Christian.
Cherokee 8, Morristown East 7
MORRISTOWN — The Chiefs led 8-4 before surviving a late rally by Morristown East, despite being outhit 11-7. Jake Elliott (double) and Manning Brooks (2 RBIs, 2 runs) both had two hits for Cherokee.
Jacob Brooks struck out six in 4 2/3 innings to get the win, before Noah Hunter recorded the save.
Connor Southard (3-for-4) drove in three runs for the Hurricanes.
Dobyns-Bennett 5, Spring Valley (W.Va.) 3
KINGSPORT — The Indians fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but didn’t allow anything else. Andrew Reilly and Tegan Begley scored on a two-out error in the fourth for a 4-3 D-B lead. Reilly and Will Ritz both doubled, as the Indians tallied five hits.
Mason Barnett got the win in relief after pitching the third and fourth innings. Begley, who equaled Barnett’s three strikeouts, got the save.
SOFTBALL
South Greene 12, Johnson County 11
GREENEVILLE — Madison Hensley’s ground-ball single with two outs drove in Katie Willett for the winning run, giving South Greene the walk-off win in the seventh.
Haven Carter homered and went 4-for-4 while Kortnei Bailey, Hensley, Paisley Brobeck (2 doubles, triple) and Whitney Reaves (2 doubles) added three hits apiece for the Lady Rebels. Kaylee Whitson struck out five to get the win, as the Lady Rebels rallied from an 11-6 deficit in the sixth inning.
Lauryn Bishop and Mattie Jones both went yard for the Lady Longhorns. Lexie Profitt (2 doubles, 4 RBIs) and Jones had three hits apiece, and Aden Thomas had two.
