CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview High Hawks made a trip to Northeast High School for a district 13-4A matchup with the Eagles. While Northeast High jumped out to an early lead in the game, Rossview High’s offensive firepower took over the game as they won by a score of 22-6.

Right from the jump, the Eagles came to play. Their dugout was loud as they kicked the game off with two runs scored in the first and second innings, which included Julie Rollins capping off the scoring run by stealing home. After two innings, the Eagles led the Hawks 4-1.

However, following the second inning, Rossview High’s offense found a spark. They put up 5 runs in the top of the third and were efficient on the base paths. Rossview High head coach Travis Gillette said his team just needed to get their energy back up.

“Our number one thing that we have is our energy,” Gillette said. “If our energy is up, we can play with anybody, and we’re going to put some runs on the board.”

The Hawks cruised past the Eagles for the rest of the game, putting up five more runs in the top of the fourth, and 11 in the top of the fifth, leading to a 22-6 victory. For Rossview, it’s a big district win, and Gillette says it’s all about continuing to build off the victory.

“Keep playing hard, that’s what I told them. Work for each other, build the culture and keep going,” Gillette said.
