Vote for the Nashville area's postseason boys high school basketball player of the year

The Tennessee high school boys basketball season ended weeks ago and the Tennessean's Large and Small Class All Midstate basketball teams were released last week.

Now it's time for you to enter the discussion. Vote for the the Tennessean's postseason boys basketball player of the year in the Nashville area for the 2023-24 season.

Here are the candidates:

Fred Bailey, Pope John Paul II: The 6-foot-2 Trevecca signee averaged 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.8 steals for a Knights team that finished 26-5 and advanced to the TSSAA Division II-AA state semifinals.

Cortez Graham-Howard, Hillsboro: Graham-Howard, who recently picked up an Arkansas offer, was impressive in his junior season averaging 15.6 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.2 blocks. The Burros finished the season 24-4 and advanced to the 4A sectional.

Jett Montgomery, Independence: The Southern Miss signee scored 28 points in Class 4A state championship win for the Eagles (33-6). He averaged 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, knocked down 89 3-pointers this season and was a Mr. Basketball finalist.

Tyler Tanner, Brentwood Academy: The Vanderbilt signee captured the Gatorade Player of the Year in Tennessee for the second straight year and won the DII-AA Mr. Basketball award. He averaged 26.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 assists while guiding the Eagles to the DII-AA state championship game.

Christian Brown, Franklin: The 6-8 center emerged as one of the top post players in Middle Tennessee. He guided Franklin to 21 wins and was the anchor defensively around the rim. Brown averaged 16.8 points,10.5 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, while shooting 55% from the field.

Daniel Cochran, Brentwood: The University of Chicago signee averaged 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and 1.4 blocks as Brentwood finished the season 20-13. He broke Belmont athletics director Scott Corley's Bruins scoring record earlier this year as the Bruins advanced to its first 4A state tournament since 2019.

Judson Bjornstad, Providence Christian: The 6-foot-7 standout played guard and led PCA to 27-5 record and a Division II-A state runner-up finish. He averaged 16 points, nine rebounds and 2.2.

Jeremy Jackson, Columbia Academy: Jackson averaged 15.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.6 steals. Columbia Academy won 14 of its last 16 games and finished with a 26-6 record, the most wins since the 2018-19 season.

Auden Slaughter, Santa Fe: Slaughter was among the state's top scorers as a sophomore last year and duplicated that feat again this season. He averaged 34.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists while guiding Santa Fe to the Class 1A state tournament semifinals.

Grayson Burleson, Summertown: A Vanderbilt baseball commit, Burleson (6-foot-4) averaged 22.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 steals this season while helping the Eagles to a 22-10 record and a District 10-2A tournament title.

Jayden Jones, Goodpasture: Jones took over as the No. 1 option for the Cougars this season. The junior forward averaged 18 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.7 blocks. He was a Division II-A Mr. Basketball finalist as the Cougars finished 26-7 this season.

Kavien Jones, BGA: Jones averaged 21 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 blocks while capturing the DII-A Mr. Basketball award. The Tennessee State signee guided the Wildcats to a 23-7 record.
