GRAY — Tim McGonigle drove in the winning runs, eventually clinching the game and the Big Four Conference title for Daniel Boone’s baseball team.
The Trailblazers earned the crown with a seventh-inning rally, taking down Dobyns-Bennett 3-2 at J. Fred Johnson Stadium.
Slader Tinker and Jackson Utsman had led off the seventh inning with back-to-back singles, both scoring on McGonigle’s line drive to right. McGonigle and Tinker, Boone’s eight-hole hitter, both had two hits. Ben Stevens’ RBI single had given the Trailblazers a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Jaiden Henry struck out six, including two of D-B’s last three batters, in the five-hit win.
Mason Kerkhoff hit 2-for-3 with a double for the Tribe, which took a 2-1 lead in the second. Cam Hayworth struck out five in his complete-game effort.
Science Hill 10, West Ridge 0
JOHNSON CITY — Jackson Berry drove in five runs, hitting 3-for-4 with a double for the Hilltoppers. Major Osbolt (3-for-4) and Nate Stoots added doubles of their own.
Hagan Gibson struck out two and allowed two hits in four innings for the win.
David Crockett 14, Sullivan East 1
JONESBOROUGH — Nate Walters struck out 11 and pitched a three-hitter, recording the five-inning win for the Pioneers.
Marcus Greenway (2-for-2) drove in three runs and scored twice to lead Crockett offensively. Jake Fox added three RBIs, and Connor Hendrix had two while A.J. Ford, Ayden Mullikin and Jackson Whaley all had two hits. Fox, Greenway, Ford, Hendrix and Kaiden Easterling all doubled in the win.
T.K. Crowder went 2-for-2 to lead East.
Volunteer 3, Grainger 1
RUTLEDGE — Connor Hayes struck out 10 and scattered six hits in the complete-game win for the Falcons.
He also went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs to lead the offense, while Isaiah Bowery went 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Gate City 14, Wise Central 1
NORTON — Not only did Jackson Jones strike out five batters and throw a four-hitter. But he also drove in five runs while hitting 4-for-5 with a double for the Blue Devils.
Luke Bledsoe, who hit a triple and a single, batted in five runs himself. Dakoda McMurray and Hayden Wilson both had two hits, with Wilson and Layton Barnett each scoring three runs.
Gabe Thompson went 2-for-3 to lead the Warriors, and Grey Kennedy drove in their lone run.
Cherokee 13, Claiborne 3
ROGERSVILLE — Cole Putnal and Keaton Lawson both went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs apiece, Putnal hitting two doubles and Lawson one. Clay Wagoner went 2-for-3 and scored three times, while Bryce Elliott doubled.
Noah Hunter struck out two and scattered four hits over the first 4 1/3 innings to get the win.
Brady Hamlin went 2-for-3 to lead the Bulldogs.
Tennessee High 5, Elizabethton 2
ELIZABETHTON — Three errors in the second inning led to four runs for Tennessee High, which collected just four hits. Cainan Meyers went the distance and struck out nine.
J.D. Hooks and Justin Whitehead both had two hits, and Rhett Slagle doubled for the Cyclones.
Unaka 17, FCA Flames 15
Robert Humphrey and Logan Lewis had three hits apiece for the Rangers while Jaycob Nidiffer, Rylan Crabtree and Connor Vines all had two. Nidiffier, Humphrey and Lewis combined for eight RBIs, while Cameron Prince scored four runs.
Eb Vernot hit 5-for-5 and scored five runs for the Flames. Colton Ables (2 triples, double) and Vaughn De La Cruz both had three hits and Trevor Kelley had two.
Eastside 9, J.I. Burton 1
NORTON — Adam Burke led a balanced effort at the plate for Eastside, going 2-for-3 and scoring twice. Christopher Steele drove in three runs, and Tanner Perry added two RBIs. Will Johnson and Clay Ward scored two runs each.
Keldan Hamilton struck out five in four innings to get the win.
Brody Garrett doubled for one of Burton’s three hits.
Rye Cove 11, Twin Springs 1
CLINCHPORT — The War Eagles scored seven runs in the fifth inning to win by run rule. Landon Lane, Dawson Kern, Jon Kern and Ethan Darnell had two hits apiece, and Will Rollins added a double.
Dawson Kern struck out seven to earn the three-hit win.
Brayden Sawyer hit 2-for-2 to lead the Titans.
John S. Battle 12, Ridgeview 2
CLINTWOOD — Palmer Gobble struck out four and pitched four innings of two-hit ball to get the win.
Elijah Childress went 3-for-4 and finished a triple shy of the cycle, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Brodie Bailey doubled twice and went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Caden Sturgill went 2-for-4.
Terran Owens hit a two-run double for the Wolfpack.
Castlewood 21, Thomas Walker 4
EWING — Payton King went 4-for-5, driving in two runs and scoring three while finishing just a triple shy of the cycle. Aden Phillips also left the yard, finishing 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Jayden Clark, Cayden Dishman, Xavier Sanders (3 RBIs) and Kaden Robinson (4 RBIs) all had three hits for the Blue Devils, while Jared Glovier added two.
Dishman struck out six in the first 3 1/3 innings to get the win.
Clay Cheek went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs for Thomas Walker.

Science Hill 11, Dobyns-Bennett 6
JOHNSON CITY — Beth Pridemore drove in four runs to help the Science Hill softball team stay tied atop the Big Four Conference, as the Lady Hilltoppers scored five runs in the third and never looked back. Pridemore went 4-for-4, while Chloe Conner hit 3-for-5 with an RBI of her own. Kaylee Oler (3 runs) and Kaylee Pickering (2 RBIs, 4 runs) both went 2-for-3, with Isabel Meeks adding a double.
Meeks struck out five in the complete-game win. And her double led off the bottom of the third inning. Pickering, Conner, Pridemore and Malia Maroukas followed with RBI singles to give Science Hill (15-4, 2-1 District 1-4A) a 9-3 lead after four innings. The Lady Hilltoppers outhit Dobyns-Bennett 15-11 for the game.
Payton Moore went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Lady Indians (21-8, 2-2), while Hailey Porter and Sophie Dean both went 2-for-4.
Porter and Catie Zani hit solo home runs in the third inning to tie the score 3-3, before Science Hill answered.
Daniel Boone 11, West Ridge 1
GRAY — Eight players had one hit apiece for Daniel Boone (15-10, 2-1), which likewise remained in a first-place tie for the Big Four lead. Anna Richardson doubled, and Kaylea Osborne drove in two runs. Riley Croley and McKenzie Strouth each scored twice.
Ava Saul pitched the first three innings and allowed one hit to get the win, before Osborne pitched the last two frames. Both struck out three batters.
Lily Frazier doubled, and Nila Horne drove in a run to lead West Ridge.
Greeneville 12, Cherokee 3
ROGERSVILLE — Kaley Garland, one of five Lady Devils with two hits, batted in five runs. Brynlee Jones (home run), Stoan Rader (triple), Garland, Kyla Jobe and Madison Carpenter all had two hits.
Leah Phillips struck out seven for the win.
Kennedy Dishner, Hadley Ward, Kasie Bowman and Shelby Helton all had two hits for Cherokee.

CHURCH HILL – Marley Sweet struck out nine and pitched a four-hit shutout for Claiborne. Jacey Ferguson doubled and finished 3-for-4, with five other Lady Bulldogs getting two hits.

GATE CITY — Abi Potter went 2-for-4 with a home run from the nine-hole for Central, and Hannah Salyer struck out nine in the six-hit win.
Rylee Blevins and Ada Gillenwater both went 2-for-4 for Gate City.

CLINCHPORT — Eden Muncy won this pitchers’ duel, striking out 14 and allowing only two hits. Maddy Wood (2 RBIs) and Rheagan Waldon both hit 2-for-3. OliviaEdwards, Kenzie Hood and Waldon all doubled.
Makenzie Gillenwater batted 2-for-3 and struck out five in her losing effort.
John S. Battle 12, Ridgeview 7
CLINTWOOD — Parker Elton went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in four runs for Battle, which jumped ahead 10-2 in the second inning. Raniah Gaitor went yard and finished 2-for-4 while Keeley Smith, Madison Bowery (double, 3 runs) and Kailee McCroskey had two hits apiece.
Caiti Hill singled with two RBIs for the Lady Wolfpack.
Tennessee High 10, Sullivan East 0
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Carly Compton struck out 12 and tossed a five-inning no-hitter, while helping her cause with a home run and a 3-for-3 offensive effort.
Addie Wilhoit went 3-for-3 with two home runs, three RBIs and four runs scored for the Lady Vikings. Abigail Gaga drove in three runs and went 4-for-4.

EWING — Anna Summers struck out 11 in her one-hit shutout, and she had plenty of support. Reann Ramsey (4 runs) hit 3-for-5 while Summers, Bailee Varney and Charleigh Hall had two hits apiece.

Dobyns-Bennett 10, Sullivan East 0
KINGSPORT — Bryson Broadwater completed the hat trick for Dobyns-Bennett as the Indians needed just one half to win by mercy rule. Wyatt Arrowood, Brogan McGhee, Gavin Farmer, Kevin Espinoza, Cooper Martin, Adrian Calo and Daniel Pond each found the back of the net once.
Arrowood, Owen Condon and Junsung Montanaro dished out two assists apiece. Broadwater, Gary Jarquin-Ramirez and Espinoza had one helper each.
Ossie Franklin made two saves to get the clean sheet. Maxx Horne made five saves for the Patriots.
Union 3, Wise Central 1
BIG STONE GAP — Union kept its undefeated record intact and stayed on the inside track to the Region 2D top seed with Tuesday’s win.
Reyshawn Anderson scored two goals for Union and assisted the other. Brayden Wharton, who assisted one of Anderson’s goals, also found the back of the net.
Keyshawn Anderson made eight saves to get the win in goal.

BIG STONE GAP — Katie Bishop found the back of the net four t times, and Bella Newberry completed a hat trick of her own for the Lady Warriors. Brylan Adkins, Riley Stallard and Alexandra Onate each scored once.
Sophia Stallard handed out four assists, with Kinslee Slemp making one save in the shutout.
