The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Central Magnet Lady Tigers 26-9 on the road Tuesday for their sixth win of the season.
The Rebelettes bookended the game with high-scoring innings and maintained a big lead for most of the day to claim a district win.
The Rebelettes opened the contest with a nine-run frame in the top of the first with Jocilyn DeSmet hitting a two-run single, Paislie Edge adding a two-run double and Kaylee Morris contributing an RBI single while four additional runs scored over the course of the inning off of errors.
The Rebelettes struck for three more runs in the top of the second as Raelyn Wainwright hit a sacrifice fly to score Kaylee Morris from third, Jocilyn DeSmet hit an RBI double and Mollye Casey hit an RBI single to put the score at 12-0 early.
The Lady Tigers capitalized off of a few Franklin County errors in the bottom of the third to score five runs in the frame and make it a 12-5 game.
However, the Rebelettes pulled right back ahead by double digits in the top of the fourth with an RBI groundout from Kaylee Morris, an RBI single from Jocilyn DeSmet and an error off of a Casey groundball which allowed Jocilyn DeSmet to score bringing the deficit up to 15-5.
The Rebelettes came within one out of securing a mercy-rule victory in the bottom of the fifth, but an error allowed the Lady Tigers to score a run, cutting the lead down to nine and extending the contest.
The Rebelettes put the game fully out of reach in the top of the seventh as they sent 15 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs for the inning.
Scoring plays in the lengthy frame included Emma Owens scoring off of an error on a ball hit by Edge, two RBI singles from Kaylee Morris, a pair of singles from Alyssa Sherrill that produced three total runs, two doubles from Wainwright for three total RBIs, an RBI single from Edge and an RBI groundout from Kaitlyn Montgomery.
The Lady Tigers made up a small amount of ground with a trio of runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Rebelettes went on to win by 17.
Dalayna Marshall pitched the first 5 1-3 innings for the Rebelettes with two strikeouts, four hits, five walks and six unearned runs allowed.
Kaylee Morris pitched the final 1 2-3 innings in relief with one strikeout, one hit, two walks and three unearned runs allowed.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 6-15 on the season and 2-3 in district play.
They will next play Thursday at Lawrence County High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
