West Ridge Holds Off ‘Betsy

West Ridge built a 5-0 lead in the fourth and held on for a 5-4 win over Elizabethton Saturday afternoon at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark.

Cade Duncon went the distance on the mound for the Wolves (8-13), scattering seven hits and allowing three earned runs. Duncan had to snuff out a fifth inning rally that saw the Cyclones cut the deficit to just one.

Brayden Barr went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in for West Ridge. Alex Ireson also doubled home a run and Kas Click finished 2-for-4 with one run driven in.

Steven Meadows and Rhett Slagle combined for four of the Cyclones’ seven hits, going 2-for-3. Meadows drove in two runs and Slagle plated one.
