Tennessee Football Lands Commitment From 2025 In-state Wr Radarious Jackson I Vols Recruiting I Gbo

Memphis wide receiver Radarious Jackson is the newest Tennessee commitment as he announced his decision at Sheffield high school on Monday afternoon. So what was it that made him want to wear orange?

“When I went on the visit and I got to see more of the facilities and how the players practice and the coaching staff and how they will use me in the offense,” Jackson said. “It was very good for my play style to see myself someday play at Tennessee.”

Being able to build a bond with Kelsey Pope was instrumental in the process of finding a football home at Tennessee. Jackson saw someone who will care for his players.

“Coach is a good coach and a hard working coach,” Jackson said. “A coach that makes bonds with his players. A coach that is all about business and knows what it’s like being from the bottom.”

Watching how Pope coaches just a few weeks ago at practice left an impression on Jackson.

“How even when someone does bad he pushes them to keep going,” Jackson said. “When someone messes up there was no putting them down. He was uplifting.”

Then there is head coach, Josh Heupel, who watched the tape and made Jackson a huge priority.

“Coach Heupel is a cool dude,” Jackson said. “I also like his coaching style and the speeches he gives as a head coach. During his talks with the team, the messages he gave were uplifting, inspiring and motivational.”

Jackson was the Mr. Football award winner in class 3A last fall. His athleticism jumps off the screen, and he feels like he brings a lot to the table.

“A guy that can catch in traffic and make a player miss,” Jackson said. “A guy that catch and get yards after catch.

“I don’t think I’ve reached my full potential yet. My game has grown all around. I can be faster, a better route runner and catch the ball better.”

And now that this process is behind him, he can focus on one big senior year.

“Going through recruitment takes a lot to take in,” Jackson said. “Takes some tough decisions to make too. Now that it’s over with, it’s off my mind and I can just go out on for my team.”
