Tennessee baseball live score updates vs Missouri: Vols face Tigers in SEC series

No. 3 Tennessee baseball will take on Missouri in a three-game series starting Thursday (7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee (34-7, 12-6 SEC) lost all three games to Missouri (19-23, 6-12) last season. In two of those contests, the Vols mustered a single run.

The Tigers most recently dropped their home series to LSU, and the Vols are coming off a road series win over top-five-ranked Kentucky last week. Tennessee is second in the SEC East Division standings — behind only Kentucky — while Missouri sits last.

Pitching leads the way for Vols

On Saturday, Tennessee took down the Tigers 3-2 after a potent hitting display. Starting pitcher Drew Beam allowed six hits and two hits and struck out eight in 7.1 innings. He is now 6-1 on the season.

Kirby Connell and Aaron Combs came in the eighth and ninth innings. Connell retired all four batters he faced and Combs got the last out after forcing a fly out.

Tennessee dominates in the series opener

The Vols beat Missouri 10-1 behind a season-high tying six home runs. They got homers from Christian Moore, Billy Amick, Hunter Ensley, Cannon Peebles and Cal Stark. Moore's home run was his 20th of the season and his fifth in the last three games. The other most notable event was that Burke's program record of 31 straight games with a hit ended.
