CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High starting pitcher Christian Henderson has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week for his performance against Wildcat rival the Rossview Hawks.

During the Week of April 15, CHS played in three games, which included a two-game series against Rossview. Henderson was given the nod to start game one against the Hawks on Monday, April 15, and pitched yet another gem.

To open the game, following an error and getting two outs, Henderson gave up a two-run homer to Rossview’s Houston Hebert. However, Henderson remained calm and kept his composure. During the rest of his outing, the senior pitcher was lights out. Meanwhile, on offense, CHS scored seven consecutive runs to take game one 7-2.

Through 5.2 innings of work, Henderson only allowed 5 hits, 2 walks, 2 unearned runs and struck out 6. Similar to last season, Henderson has served as the Wildcats ace throughout the year.

With over 46 innings pitched, the starting pitcher has only allowed 8 earned runs to score, which brings his ERA out to 1.20. Henderson has also compiled a perfect record of 6-0 and has struck out 59 batters this season.

Clarksville High has two games remaining before the end of their regular season. Then, on Wednesday, May 1, the Wildcats are set to begin district tournament action.
