The Tullahoma High School Wildcats soccer team celebrated their three senior players before the last home game of the season against Wilson Central.
The Wildcats fell in the game 2-1, making their record 4-5-2 overall on the season. The ‘Cats finished the district schedule 2-2-1, finishing in third place.
The three seniors on Tullahoma’s team are; Juan Astello, Ethan Simmons and Charlie Dodson. Astello is second on the team in points and goals. He has five goals and 10 points so far on the season. Dodson and Simmons are defensemen, so they only have one combined point. The point is Dodson’s on an assist.
The Wildcats scored first in the match against Wilson Central off the foot of Jayden Sarabia. He had a direct kick from just outside the box. Sarabia’s initial shot was blocked right back to him and he shot again and beat the goalkeeper to give the ‘Cats a 1-0 lead 16 minutes in. Tullahoma had a few more chances to score in the first half but could not get the ball into the net. They led 1-0 at halftime. Wilson Central tied the game in the second half on a shot that went top shelf in the eleventh minute of play in the second half. They scored again with 18:15 left in the game to take a 2-1 lead. The Wildcats had a couple of opportunities to tie the game but could not convert.
Tullahoma will go to Manchester on Monday for the last regular season game at 7 p.m.
