CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – There is a lot to keep in mind as postseason play approaches for spring sports. With playoffs beginning this week for baseball and softball, along with boys’ soccer next week, there is always a chance for some upset madness. Let’s take a look at four storylines to watch this week:

1. Clarksville and Rossview’s date with destiny

Throughout the 2023-24 baseball season, the Clarksville High Wildcats and Rossview High Hawks have been two of the top teams in the State of Tennessee. Going into the week of Monday, April 29, Rossview had been ranked third in the state, while Clarksville High ranked fourth.

The two sides split the season series, and they may play again in the upcoming weeks. However, Kirkwood High and Northeast High may have something to say about that and will have a chance to spoil the rematch.

2. Can someone play spoiler in Dickson County?

Kenwood High, Northwest High and West Creek are all scheduled to begin their postseason journey in Dickson, Tennessee for the District 14-4 baseball tournament.

With the Patriots from Henry County and the Dickson County Cougars being the top two seeds, could we see a season uprooted by a Montgomery County school?

3. Rossview boys’ soccer looks to extend streak

The Rossview High boys’ soccer team have won their district tournament several years in a row now.

As the Hawks head into the 2023-24 district tournament as the number one overall seed, Clarksville High and Kirkwood will look to put an end to Rossview’s streak. Will we see a new district champion, or will the Hawks repeat once more?

4. Who comes out of the softball region?

Clarksville area softball teams have battled it out all season long for districts 13-4A and 14-4A.

Just as in years past, each team will be tested as they try to advance throughout their district and region tournament. Will a Clarksville area team be able to walk about victorious?
