Falcon Baseball split in Region Class 4-A Tournament action Saturday to finish as runner-up. In their opening game, LCHS dropped the championship to Nolensville, 7-2. In the next game, Columbia won over Summit 5-4 in 10 innings lasting nearly four hours. The win sent the Lions to the runner-up game with the Falcons. Lincoln County finished on top, 12-2, in five innings. Maddox Meeks got the win giving up two runs (one earned) off two hits, one walk, and six Ks. It was a nine-hit night for the Falcons.

Last week was one to remember for Lincoln County baseball. The Falcons won the 4A District 9 championship on home turf and qualified for sectionals over the weekend.

Monday, May 6, started the week with a pitchers’ duel against the Columbia Lions for the district championship. It was a scoreless game through the first four innings.
