The Trousdale County High School softball team saw its season come to a close on May 11, with a 3-2 loss to Westmoreland in the District 6-2A Tournament in Westmoreland.

The Lady Jackets scored two runs in the second inning on a double by senior Bailey Hines, before giving up one in the fifth, and two in the top of the seventh.

They went three up and three down in their final at-bat.

The stat sheet listed four hits and two errors for the Hartsville girls.

Taren Simmons, Emma Holder and Kayleigh Dunn added one hit a piece.

Senior Maddie Lee took the loss in the circle, as she recorded three strikeouts (giving her 454 for her career), while giving up six hits, one earned run, and two walks.

The Lady Jackets completed their season with a 12-6 overall record and back-to-back winning seasons for seventh year head coach Blake Satterfield. They went 4-2 in the regular season, with two wins each over Westmoreland and White House Heritage, to go along with two losses to Liberty Creek.

Lee and Holder were named All-Tournament and All-District. Cayden Ray and Dunn were also selected for the All-District team.

The Lady Jackets will be losing five seniors in Kindle Berry, Hines, Willow Jones, Lee and Simmons.

The Trousdale County girls got sent to the loser’s bracket on May 10, when they fell 14-1 in five innings to Liberty Creek. They could muster only one hit that was turned in by Ray, while committing two errors.
