Weiss hires former Rice DB, Prosper OC Malcolm Hill as new head football coach

Weiss High School on Monday hired Prosper offensive coordinator Malcolm Hill as its new football head coach. A native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he played four years at Rice University as a cornerback.
Hill replaces Vernon Hughes, who left Weiss to take the head role at Mesquite Horn. Hughes went 17-5 in two seasons as the head coach at Weiss with two playoff appearances and no postseason wins. In the 2024-25 season, he led the team to an 8-3 record but lost to Angleton in the first round.
Weiss boasts a talented roster of players. On offense, three-star offensive lineman Jerald "JJ" Mays, four-star wide receiver Tre Moore and quarterback Jaxon Schad are obvious standouts. The defense includes linebacker Michael Dent III and defensive back Jorian Guinn Jr., who have both earned Division I offers of their own.
Prosper finished in the top two of its district in the three years Hill's been the offensive coordinator. He was also the Eagles' recruiting coordinator during his time with the program. Prosper's 2024-25 season ended with an 8-3 overall record and a 35-27 loss to Coppell in the first round of the playoffs.
