CoachT is Jim Thompson, a teacher and coach who retired in June 2010 after his 32nd year (35 years total in teaching) at Lawrence County High School in Lawrenceburg, TN. The technical specialist who makes all of the features on CoachT work correctly is Bradley Lambert.

A graduate of Lawrence County High in 1970, Coach Thompson played four years of football and one year of basketball for the Austin Peay Governors.

Coach Thompson coached high school football for 11 years (three in Charleston, SC and eight years at Lawrence County) and coached one year in college as a graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee.

CoachT coached boy's high school basketball for 8 years -- two as head coach and 6 as an assistant. He has also coached baseball for two years, both as head coach, and coached golf for 18 years. began on October 15th, 1997 as a simple site covering the Lawrence County Lady Cats basketball team for 1997-98. As luck would have it, the Lady Cats won the Class AAA State Championship that season. When time permitted, CoachT also participated in Lady Cat basketball broadcasts on WDXE Radio.

The site was later expanded to cover all of District 8-AAA basketball teams. became a comprehensive, state-wide site after signing on with in February of 2000, a relationship which lasted a little over one year before unfortunately declared bankruptcy. By the time they re-emerged we had decided to go on our own.

Now, in February 2021, we have added Florida to our network with Gage Brown (user name CoachTFL) as the site manager. Gage is a former Tennessean and now is a Floridian with his wife and 5 kids. You can reach Gage at [email protected]

CoachT and his wife, Elaine, have been married for 43 years and have three children and five grandchildren: Brynn is married (husband Philipp) and living in Karlsruhe, Germany where she is teaching at Berlitz and has just finished her Masters at the University of Berlin. Brynn is the proud parent of four beautiful children- Isabella, Alexander, Max, and Adrian. Mark lives in Lawrenceburg and has a beautiful young daughter, Elle. Katie is about to end her fifth year teaching art in middle school and is now married to Zach Sarver. not only covers all Tennessee High School Sports during the school year but has expanded to provide the same comprehensive coverage to Tennessee middle schools and junior highs. Elaine will be helping CoachT with the additional coverage.
