Gentleman, Just wanted to let you guys know about an upcoming wrestling camp at Soddy Daisy High School on June 19th-21st. This will be an excellent training opportunity for your wrestlers to experience during summer break, and a great chance for you and your athletes to grow in the sport together just before the TSSAA dead period. *Please send me a head count of your wrestlers in advance via email or phone. I would prefer to keep the camp between 60-75 participants, so space is limited. First come, first serve. There are roughly 30-35 spots left available. Built program from scratch and turned it into a national contender, coaching 10 All-Americans and two NCAA finalists. In 2014, after leading Ouachita Baptist University to a fourth place finish at the NCAA Championships he was named NCAA Division II Coach of the Year. Coaches, Soddy Daisy Wrestling would like to cordially invite your team to compete in the 2016 Soddy Daisy Showdown and Trojan Duals. Our tournament will be held at Soddy Daisy High School, on January 8th & 9th 2016. Traditionally, our tournament has featured top tier competition from teams throughout the southeast, and 2016 will be no exception. Our goal is to maintain a tough field of competition, year in and year out, with the simple focus of quality mat time. We believe our tournament is one of Tennessee’s toughest individual venues for in season competition. We pride ourselves on providing a highly competitive format, with efficiency and economical value in mind. The two day schedule will be as follows: On Friday January 8th, we will hold our Junior Varsity Tournament and the Trojan Duals. Weigh-ins for the J.V. Showdown and the Trojan Duals will take place at 5:00 p.m., and wrestling will begin at 6:00 p.m... Participating teams are allowed 2 entries per weight class for the Junior Varsity Division, and up to 2 Varsity Dual matches based on individual team interest. The Junior Varsity Tournament will use a pool format, and will be priced @ $10.00 per entry with a maximum cap of $100.00 per team. We will award only first and second place medals for the J.V. division. As a bonus for the teams entering the Showdown, there will be no entry fee charged for teams interested in participating in the Trojan Duals. As stated before, the duals will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m... There will be no breaks in between the duals, so please have your team ready to compete following the conclusion of the match scheduled before yours. The Varsity Tournament will be held on Saturday, January 9th. Weigh-ins will take place at 8:00 a.m., and wrestling will begin by 9:30 a.m... The tournament will be structured under the double-elimination format. The entry fee for the Showdown will be $200.00 per team. We will award placement for the top 4 wrestlers in each weight class, Best Match, Outstanding Wrestler for weight classes106-145, and Outstanding Wrestler for weight classes 152-285. There will also be awards for the first and second place teams based on overall team scores. Seeding for the Showdown: The seeds for each weight class will be arranged based on the seeding criteria gathered as each team enters their rosters into Trackwrestling. Please disclose any head to head arguments for seeding purposes prior to the tournament. Due to time constraints, no head to head match results from the Trojan Duals will be taken into account for the Showdown seeding. Payment Details for Tournament Fees: J.V.
