  1. Yes I know it's great!! I will try and find out if it will be on the radio for you guys!!! I believe it will be a really good game between two teams that want it bad!!

Nothing better than seeing a kid you have coached succeed at the next levels. I hope for a hard hitting injury free game. I think these two teams will I've us a great game. There will be a lot of pride on the line in this one

  2. Yes just one more day until Friday night lights and I can't wait to watch the game. It does feel good watching this group of young men especially when I have coached more than half the team and have watched them grow into the players that they have become and have seen so much improvement from grade school ball to junior high and now high school! And I am very proud of all of them but I really enjoy getting to watch my son play the most! Go Wildcats!!

  3. Back in the day Monterey posters would be live, but nothing much on the hill these days in the way if coacht posters. Monterey has a bunch of seniors and since they've lost to Clay County they have been on an absolute tear beating some decent teams by a lot of points like Jackson County and Gordonsville. I do, however, expect Copper Basin to pull out the win but I'll be pulling for Monterey. Im expecting this to be a very good ge and almost tempted to make the trip to see it.

Monterey does not have a lot of seniors maybe 5 with significant playing time. The Clay County game was really hard to watch. So many turnovers and a pick 6 to boot! Most of the defense except 3 in the secondary will all be back next year. I do believe it will be a good game and hopefully the Wildcats will pull out the victory. Come on up Swanson and pull for the Wildcats!

  4. We are a single-wing team but we also line up in spread and also will line right up in a stack I and try and run it right at you. From the look of your schedule it does look like you have played some really good opponents. Also, our 3 losses have come from a 5A school, a tough Upperman team, and a Gordonsville team that is ranked in the top 10 in 1A. I think it will be a good game and good luck to you guys.

  5. End of 1st qtr. MHS 16-8.

    Half MHS 22- JC 22

    End of 3rd MHS 22-JC 30

Great game tonight right down to the wire! #6 for JC is a very good player and both teams played a very hard fought game. Momentum went from MHS one minute then to JC the next.

  7. The first game Monterey played they beat themselves. Harriman gave us turnovers in the first half and we returned the favor in the second half and that cost us the game. Baxter is a bit improved but it should have been a better game, but we failed to even show up. The Celina game was a fairly even game overall but we did pull it out and, of course, Pickett County is well we all know. Gordonsville is always a very well coached team and always has some great talent. I do hope for a good game from both sides. They did have just 2 Seniors but with some injuries they got one more kid that played as a freshman to come back out so that makes your third. Good luck to both teams and may they both come out healthy.

  8. I agree with all of you, it was a nasty game. We did have one player get ejected, Monterey had no players get ejected. I know that football is supposed to be rough, but the stuff that was happening last night was unnecessary. After the game, I heard more than one Monterey fan say something to the effect of "well at least we took one of them out for next week". I hope that this doesn't reflect the attitude of the Wildcat team, but I have to wonder. The blindside/late hit/VERY late hit happened right over on the Watertown sideline and it was obvious that the Monterey player was wanting to start something. Even in the final 2 minutes when Watertown was running the clock out and trying to just take a knee on every play, Monterey continued to use needless aggression and more than a few punches were thrown. I've seen the game video, it's ridiculous. I never expected that Monterey would roll over, they always play us tough and I have respected them for that...not so much respect happening now. I was proud of Coach Webster for standing up and saying "Enough is enough!". The game was out of hand. Unfortunately it didn't stop. It was nasty, but in the end, Watertown is still going to be playing a football game next Friday night and Monterey is...well let's just say that Monterey can get to work on the boys basketball season!

The game consisted of both sides being out of hand. I am from Monterey and I for one know Coach Heady and when the kids that got in trouble he took the kid out of the game and chewed them out on most every occasion. No it does not reflect the true Wildcat pride of the game tonight. I for one was disgusted for the way our kids acted but for Watertown's as well. I didn't even think they was going to shake hands. I wish the purple tigers all the luck in the playoffs and may every one be safe and injury free.

  9. I would like to hear from Monterey fans and Clarkrange fans to see what they think about the situation. I myself am from Monterey and I feel that Molly has been betrayed by her own teammates in them giving her a hard time and she got to the point where basketball wasn't fun for her anymore and even maybe her team didn't even want her to be there. As far as Coach Heady, I have known the man all my life and he gives all he has into the football program and then some. I am for him and his family and supprt their decision. In life there are only a few things that has priority God, family, and everything else will fall into place.....
