Congrats to Ravenwood for being the first public school to win the D1 Championship!

How will the Raptors be next season now that we are pretty sure Rector is staying? Who will be the key returning players? What does their schedule look like?

Ravenwood will lose MANY quality players...I believe 4 outa the 5 OL guys will graduate.

 

Becker (QB) returns...but will not be able to do it alone..behind an inexperienced line that is for sure.

 

Possible decline on the way for RHS..but, hey as long as they "Believe" you never know.

CHS...the only students in the county that can choose to come to CHS are Franklin students only at this time. CHs is closed to all other zones.

 

Indy and Ravenwood are NOT open zoned for anyone at this time...nor will they be under the current circumstances.

 

Open zoning in WC has more to do with student populations...prevent over-crowded schools and fill empty classrooms in less populated schools.

Can some Ravenwood and Smyrna fans tell me how these teams are supposed to do next year? Do they have a lot of starters returning? A lot of talent? Thanks.

I couldn't agree more. In the regular season game Smyrna was asking for trouble and Ravenwood gave it to them. In Saturday's game Ravenwood was asking for trouble and Smyrna gave it back to them. Both sides are at fault here. 82cat, you can post all the crap you want about Ravenwood but you know it went both ways. And finally, no Ravenwood fans are whining about it- they know they were part of the problem and everyone knows Smyrna deserved the win. People were simply making statements about Smyrna's behavior after the game. They weren't saying that Ravenwood fans had perfect behavior. I arrived at the stadium shortly before the game started and I can honestly say that I never heard any vulgar cheers during the whole game by the Ravenwood fans. Lastly, I just wanted to say that the Raptors getting to State was not a fluke- beating four talented teams on the road shows something. They deserve to be the runners-up just as Smyrna deserves to be the champs.

And oknative, the regular season game wasn't at Ravenwood. It was at Smyrna for their homecoming.

Ravenwood fans have sour grapes about their season. I think they are JUST starting to realize they MIGHT not win state again. Because all season long they have thought they would. I think there is nothing wrong with DC fans when I was there this season I thought everyone was very nice.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Ask one student from Ravenwood if at the beginning of the year they thought we'd when state again. Everyone knew that this year wouldn't be the same season as last.

So what would happen if Ravenwood beats Dickson County? Obviously, Franklin will get the first seed, but what about the rest? Dickson, Ravenwood, and Brentwood will all be 5-2 in the region and 7-3 in all (assuming Brentwood wins against Northeast). In this case, Dickson County has beaten Brentwood, Brentwood has beaten Ravenwood, and Ravenwood has beaten Dickson County. How would they chose who would get the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seeds?

Who will they be? I'll post mine later.

As far as I'm considered the Raptors are still the state champions until that particular weekend in December. I also agree that what happens at the game depends on which Ravenwood team shows up.

Smyrna's the obvious favorite, but with Ravenwood's Becker back in practice this week it could make things a little more interesting...

Congrats to Indy on a convincing win. It sure reminds me of Ravenwood in going from a loosing first season to a nice second one. But then again, who knows, the season is still young.

This will be an interesting one. I say Riverdale by two TDs.
