  1. Congrats lady Warriors! You made your old coach so proud!

    Greg, you can relax now! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

What the heck are we going to talk about now that the season is over!!!!

Well, it is over in a lot of ways...last game for Cal... sweet and bitter sweet at the same time!

I'll have to say that FRA was a hand full. Very skilled team and well coached. They have a real weapon with the throw-ins in their space.

One of my daughters had the chance to speak with the FRA coach at a restaurant after the game and he was very complimentary of the CAK girls team. Great sportsmanship she thought. Coach Pifer has brought the CAK girls program a long way from our freshman year. Good coaching is an amazing thing. We got to see two really well coached teams today. It was nice to come out with the win, but anyone that loves soccer would have loved that game.

G - I'm sure we'll find something to talk about...how about those Warriors in the Spring?

  2. CAK 3

    Catholic 0

G, don't know if you heard this but Tessa Piety was injured last night...a knee. She left the stadium with a large wrap around her knee and really looked discouraged. Too bad...she's a great young player. I haven't heard the extent of the injury, but since she used to play for you, I thought you'd like to know.

  3. I'm not taking sides one way or the other, but speaking of 'lip-stick on a pig.." CAK 15 - Loudon 0

For the record, G doesn't coach the CAK varsity girls. I saw this game and freshman/JV played half of period 1 and all but about 10 minutes of period 2. It appeared to me the Loudon players were not really interested in being on the field. Loudon actually took down the sideline canopy with 20 minues to play in the game. For most of the second half, CAK just moved the ball up and down the field between the 18s and worked on playing the ball back to the keeper. To me, that was more humiliating to Loudon than simply playing the game. Since such lop-sided games are possible in district play, why not end the game early - like a mercy rule that exists in baseball and softball? I'm not really sure why you would ask a freshman that will only get into a few games to avoid trying to score. It would seem better just to stop the game.

As defending contest champion, don't I get a few extra points added to my score? Wasn't that something we decided last year? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

  5. I think that is how we did it last year.

Maybe you don't remember so good! /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> How long did you have to think about a method that would let you win before you posted your plan? Something must be wrong, I'm 4 points behind you!

  6. flatulence ? Or is that flattery? With you, I get those two confused. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Thanks Coniglio...G, you were no help!

  9. What I noticed is McMinn played more Knox. schools and BC played more Chatt. teams.....which I found interesting. So really after looking at it more in more detail I'm still stuck with BC oppenents record is 82-81-20 while Mcminn Co. oppenents record is 93-110-24. Strenghth of schdule goes to BC. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I think I'd be careful using the raw numbers as a way to generate some kind of artifical "strenght of schedule" rating because the raw numbers tell a misleading story, if they tell any story at all. Take BC for example. Seventy (70) of its "opponent's wins" came from 6 teams: Grace, Hixon, McMinn (counted twice on Eurosport), Ooltewah, Soddy-Daisy, and Cleveland. So the other 9 teams on the schedule had a combined total number of wins of 12 or an average of 1.3 wins each. What does that mean? Very little. Or maybe it just means that BC played 6 good teams and 9 that were not very good - on a relative scale.

  10. Let's see if ZEEK can pull another Miracle out of his boots to pull of the biggest upset in the history of A/AA bracket contest! Bawk Bawk, Zeek? (The feathered gauntled has been dropped)

G, still haven't come to grips with it have you? Take it like a man and get over it! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Any idea where we can find an accurate bracket? I can't seem to find one other than what's on TSSAA's web site and I certainly don't know the seedings well enough to fill one out to start. Last year, didn't the Chattanooga paper post the bracket on its web site?
