1. We ( Clinton, AC, and O.R.) need to stick together and show the Knoxville area teams how good our county teams are! I would love for our three teams to make the playoffs out of our district this year! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I agree 100% ,but can we do that.

2. What about the Morristown East vs AE match-up in week zero, on the Turf in Mo-town?

Morristown East has some really good size on the o-line & great speed in the backfield.

I know AE has speed, what about their size up-front? It will take about a Quarter for AE

to adjust to the Turf. Our turf is great but, it can be a little bounces.

Have a safe trip up. Go Canes!

AE players ,and fans ,please take it one game at a time. I ,don't think anybody needs to look ahead.

3. Graham does an excellet job of getting his players names out there. I don't know if any have got any looks but I do know Jr to be Tremond Robinson is getting looks already. I mean, he's been going to a bunch of combines and the coaches that has been there are talking about how good his hands are. Like I stated previously, Tremond went to the D1 Combin in Chattanooga and he only dropped 2 balls the whole day.. That's speaks highly of this young man. He should be getting a lot of looks this year. Keep his name in mind!!!

Turtle according ,to coach Graham ,Hawkins seems to be generating quite a stir among some pretty interesting D1 programs. Visits to Auburn twice, Miss, State twice, UT twice ,South Carolina ,and Carson Newman. Devonte ,is sorely missed back hear in the ridge, but we wish him the best over in road runner country. I really hope yhat AE wins the state this year good luck y'all now you hear.

4. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Hahaha you said Back when they were good.. Hahaha, that's messed up.. But yeah, Coach Kelly would sit well with the AE program. However, in my opinion, I thought the line was fairly young last year and this year they should be much better. With a new coach that could only lead to good things.. i wish Coach Kelly the best of luck. Hopefully, AE can find a QB that can get the playermakers the ball.

Turtle are there any juniors getting look's from D1 schools or taking any visits. Thanks for input.

5. Hey Tadvols.

Been away. Will post in a couple of days. Long story short though, ... is as you said. OL/DL look to be solid with the needs at the skill spots. I think with Pitchford and, co will be fine. AE will have Dean back. AC will have Longmire as well as Rogers and the FB/LB kid. Catholic...Holy Crap, did you see the piece on Rivals about that program? Should be another good year in 2-3A. Probably the last one for a few of them.

ruse?

Can anyone please tell me a little bit about what to expect from AE this year. Oak ridge lost A good kid ,and a real good football player to them. I would just like to know what to expect. Kwayu seems to very excited about the up coming season. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

6. Some people just don't understand "why" people are complaining about Coach Stevens. It's not about having a 8-3 record, or even losing in the first round of the playoffs. It's about the things that Stevens has done off the field. It's about the players getting into fights on the bus on the way to a game. It's about the assistant coaches that who leave after each season and can't work together as a team. It's about cussing out fans of other teams and coaches of other teams and I could go on and on. What we have now is a football program in disarray and it's time for a change, it's as simple as that.

I would like to congratulate the seniors on this 2007 football team for giving a great effort and playing their hearts out. And I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

1979,80 State Champions, rated No. 3 in the nation. We don't live in the past, but we are very proud of it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I would like to ,know if there is any truth .to some players tranferring. I also heard that Coffey kid may be inelgible next year.

7. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Old Dad is absolutely right. Farragut did what they needed to do last Friday, and that's all that counts. If both Oak Ridge and Farragut take care of business this Friday, then Oak Ridge will get another chance. Until then no if and or buts about it, Farragut should brag about it, they won. Go Cats!

I don't agree with much that ole dad says either ,but I too have to say ,well said

8. QUOTE(FultonPride @ Jun 12 2007 - 08:11 AM) 826474173No, Science Hill was beat by Farragut in the Quarterfinals. They had a decent showing, beating a very surprising Cloudland team that upset an extremely athletic Lower Richland team from Columbia, SC in the first round. Cloudland had a chance to upset SH, but their last second hail mary deflected off of the recievers helmet, bounced straight up in the air and then fell behind the receiver.

Farragut defeated Fulton and Oak Ridge defeated Ravenwood in the Semis…Oak Ridge beat Farragut in the Finals 20-7.

It is interesting to note that Fulton beat both Oak Ridge and Ravenwood handily earlier in the day (3 TDs to 0). Fulton missed on numerous deep balls to wide open receivers versus Farragut as they used one safety in deep coverage…you have to give the Admirals credit for sticking with their game plan to hit the short crossing routes

Did you notice ,that Demarcus Rogers ,Rafiel Coffey ,Jarred Stevens ,and tournament MVP David Irby ,did not play. Did you even notice:. Just wondering Mr. pride.

9. QUOTE(bounder @ May 6 2007 - 07:36 PM) 826453082Heard Oak Ridge really looked good friday nite. Now that being said... I guess the $64,000 question is how good or bad is Powell??

Oak Ridge ,have the speed talent to be A very competitive football. The cats should win A lot football games ,and return to play offs ,I hope. I have been at spring practice everyday ,and it appears that the coaching staff ,are all getting along very well. They seem to be really coaching together so far. Unlike last year. O.R. should have a good group of linebackers ,in Jeremy Vauhgn .Andrew kirkpatrick ,who also will be the starting tailback Devonte Hawkins who probably be the backup full back ,and Marcus underwood who also plays tightend. As for what powell has don't know. They dont appear to be to strong this year ,but time will tell. I really believe that O.R. will turn some heads this ,very atheletic group of boys. Good luck ,and Roll Wildcats

10. QUOTE(oakridgewildcats37 @ Apr 8 2007 - 09:41 PM) 826432718To start out saying the last Oak Ridge season was a rebuilding season and and I think with the right leadership from the senior class the Wildcats could be back in Murfreesboro playing for the state championship.

Also does anyone know anything about James Normand and Devonte Hawkins .

Devonte is training ,and working out D1. James is in track right now. Both are ready for some football.

11. Does anyone have any news about Oak Ridge Football in the off season? Are workouts proceeding? Will the 2007 Season see improvement? What is the outlook?
I have had the privelage to attend some of the work outs the past four weeks ,and Ihave been very impress ,with some of the senoir leadership. The work out seem's to be very intense. I was also happy to see four of the coaches thear leading the kids. Yes coach Stevens was thear also.Ole dad I agree with you on one thing ,there is alot of internal things that needs to be taken care of ,before summer practice begins. Within the coaching staff is what I mean.Thear is one particular coach ,that Stevens is allowing to disrupt the whole coaching staff. Needs to be taken care of immediatly. I won't speculate on which one because I don't want to be a coach basher. The question is? do I think these things can be fix yes. These things needs to be fix no later than spring practice if we are to have a better season next year. With that being said ,all I have left to say is Roll Wildcats Roll.
12.

I saw a kid named Tavarous Jefferson play this year for Ensworth. He was unreal and only in the 10th grade. He reminded me of Eric Lock from Riverdale. I think everyone in the state will know who this kid is in a year. I was told that he was from Oak Ridge. I don't who did it but someone really dropped the ball by letting this kid get away. Maybe if Oak Ridge was the power it used to be he would not have left. Again he is very very talented.

Check out the 1/25/07 Ensworth city paper, sports section. Great story on Jefferson. :(
13. Once again Gov I completly agree with your post ,with the acception of one thing. Ole dad has a inside informant ,that should be ran off. This informant that I speak of does attend the meeting ,and film sessions. Like Ole dad he does'nt care for coach Stevens either. Therefore the whole truth is not being relayed back to his buddy. It's all about not getting who they wanted. Let it go or move on.

14. That's your problem ole dad you are so full of hate you can't even understand plain english, I didn't say just football state championships. As for my knowledge of Oak Ridge football, I don't have to have any to have an opinion on you. I have seen your kind before, your the type of fan who thinks they know whats going on and has all the answers. How many film sesions have you been a part of. Can you tell me what type of defense william blount runs. What is Ooltewah's favorite play, what are there tendencies. Are you in on Oak Ridges Game plan, do you attend these meetings. Your the type of fan that watches practice or just forms an opinion after a game with out any real knowledge of whats going on. As far as my life, I can look at the number of your posts campared to mine and can tell you that I have more of a life that you do. Its a shame that with all the tradition Oak Ridge Football has they are still left with fans like you. You are more destructive to the program than any player, coach, administrator, or board member. Do everyone a favor and let it go, you may add a few years to your life and it will speed up any damage that you have caused the program
15. My step dad use to tell me you are either part of the solution or part of the problem, ole dad your part of the problem. Either get on board with the palyers coaches, administration, or find another team to support. I am sure given the right school you could channel all of your negative energy into something positive for a number of programs. How bout Clinton, they seem to need alot more answers than Oak Ridge. Or how bout a Heritage, They could use someone like you to turn it around. With your knowledge you could even help them upset Oak Ridge next year. Oak Ridge has won 33 state championships in there history the most by any public school. Believe it or not they will survive without you.
Thank you well said. So is his messenger.

I knew what he was talking about. What is 82% nothing but a bunch of good seasons. May be next time you respond you should get your facts straight. The worst winning percentage in OR coaching history since 1948 belongs to the great Emory Hale during his first two seasons 69-70. After two season he was 14-6, 70% and that is fact based. He was 36-16 in his first 5 seasons with a 6-4 and a 5-5 seasons. Do the math and that comes out to 69%. I guess for some reason you missed that when you were quoting worst winning percentage since 1948. Sounds like your responses are a little more emotional than fact based. Anothor fact is I'm pretty sure that unless the team shows some dramatic improvement next year, Steven's won't get 5 years to match that.

I agree that next year there needs to be improvement, but for Stevens nothing short of a state championship will be good enough for most, I don't think he will get the same consideration that all of the other coaches have with their 9-1, 10-2 type seasons with nothig to show but a lot of wins and the occasional district championship.

Are you crazy, what self respecting fan would ever admit that coming from Oak Ridge, with only 1 State Championship and 1 runner up, since 1991 that could never be the reason. Well at least in the new coach Stevens era.
