The match tonight will be streamed on clevelandwrestlingtv.com. The cost is $9.99/month to help with fundraising since fans will not be in person.

I heard through the grapevine that the 8th grade score was 62-6. Sounds to me that the cupboard is full, storm cellar is stocked and heard Lake Forest/Bradley parents saying Cleveland only has 22 good players.

Heard the other day that Phil "Possum" Condra passed away. Gone too soon.

Friday Seq Co @ Whitwell

I don't put much stock in these rankings this year. It is nice for the kids but I know that Whitwell has some kids that should be ranked and are not. 170 Warner Ashworth with a 17-3 record and head to head win over Ivey at Hixson. 220 TD Argo with a 15-3 record and a head to head win over Watkins.
Also, the rankings haven't accounted for everyone dropping weight.
Jaren Thames is now at 120
Once again, nice to have a little publicity, but it is the end rankings on the podium that matter most.

Whitwell High School/AAU program is looking for a good "USED" wrestling mat so that we can host matches and tournaments. Prefer Red or Black or Gray. If you have something, please contact me at jweiss@mctns.net
Thank you.

What teams are going and who is going to win?

I think everything and everyone that I saw went well. Great job Whitwell

I thought everything went well tonight at Vernon Holtcamp Field. I thought by selling the tickets in four different areas and the two pass gates helped in getting the crowd into the stadium quickly. We did not run out of items at the concession stands, including ice and hamburgers. Many different areas selling items. Having the lights on in the baseball and softball areas helped with people being able to park in several areas. Lot of police on the scene. Had to wait a long time for the injured player to get an ambulance, prayers to him and his family. I believe things were organized What does everyone else think?

Score was 6-5 Bledsoe. Whitwell had one called back and a "fumble" in the end zone.

Whitwell has low numbers. They will have a Spring Game tomorrow at 6. Don't know what to expect there.

I don't know of many people that will apply. Tough spot to fill. They also have to fill a principal spot as well. Plus, are they willing to move folks around to accommodate the teaching position of the new coach. I say go after someone young that will stay for a long time. Or an alumni or both. Someone that will put in the passion that job requires.

any updates or names on applicants

I don't think Montgomery wanted to leave, but felt he had to for family reasons. No one can fault him for that, family must come first. i wish him the best of luck. IMO, I think this is a very good job opening with a team that is ready to continue its winning. I would love an opportunity to be over at Central and have a chance at the job.

So any interviews happened yet? What names are in serious contention? What is the admin looking for in the next Head coach?
-
Would love to find out the real story behind this. As a coach, I would be timid to apply since there has been so much turnover in recent years.

I say go to a system similar to Georgia's. Large regions, with sub regions an no crossover games throughout the season. Last week of regular season is a crossover of 1 v 1 2v 2 and so on. Winner of 1v1 is region champ, loser is #2 seed. In 2v2 of sub regions is #3 seed, loser is #4. You could go back to the old region system and have region 3 and 4, 1 and 2 battle for a region champ? Just an idea, anything is better than using a computer figure out who is the best.

Maybe an hot asst. or an unknown that is ready for the next level. Some names that come to mind are Kenny Cobble (RB) Daniel Hearn (Hixson) Tyler Rich (RB) and John Weiss (Orchard Knob). These guys can flat out coach up some kids. There ya go Weiss. LOL!

I really enjoyed it and like it. It seems like there should be some music playing in the backround when it is read aloud.

Thank You. I am glad someone else saw it the same way I did. I believe that is what I have been saying all along.
