I think Catholic will be down from the last couple of years, although still good. But I see CPA winning, and it will likely be handily.
-
"Experts"?.... I wouldn't take what they predict too seriously. The old prepxtra guy picked KC to beat CAK by 1... He was only 46 points off.AC = The underdogs. All four of the experts on High School Heroes picked the Irish.
-
. 😂Bottom line is Catholic should be in 5A, but because of a awful ruling by the TSSAA they get to play 4A. With the multiplier they have over 1200 students. They are a private school playing public ball without a true 1.8 multiplier. It shouldn't matter if a multiplier moves a private school up 2 classes, the multiplier was put in for a reason and should be enforced.

The scrimmage was scheduled to start at 445 but the referees could not be there until 530, so that was the reason for the JV playing at first. Not organized well by the home team.
-
yeah, but it was official Monday. #473
Well he accepted the Heritage position weeks ago... Sorry you didn't "officially" know.
-
Heard West had a good scrimmage against Bearden and haven't heard anything about East. East must have stunk it up again. This time against those pesky Pigeon Forge Tigers. Unicoi Co. or Wartburg must not have been available.
East scrimmaged Knoxville Catholic and got beat...

Well, it seems as if the boys coaches in Sumner County are dropping like flies. Portland coach Bill Duncan resigned Monday and they begin a new coaching search AGAIN this summer. Hard to build a competitive program when you have to keep replacing your coach. Best of luck to them.
Couple weeks late on this one... Bill Duncan will be coaching at Heritage High School.

When was the last time TN high school football had two 1st round draft picks? Congrats to both young men. I am sure your former schools are ecstatic .
Bump. Great job Harrison Smith!!
-
How can you be so sure that Narramore took the job? Besides, he does have some talent coming back @ Loudon.
Qsouth and Chill are good sources, it is true. I also can say I know this is true.
-
Just saying what I heard. Norris did one heck of a job with his teams at South Doyle and did that job with not very much talent.
Ok just asking. I do not remember them winning more than 5 games but maybe they did.
-
Maybe I am missing something here but why would the former South Doyle coach be a top candidate for the Powell job?
-
1. West
2. Bearden
3. Maryville
4. Lenoir City
5. Farragut
6. Catholic
7/8 WB/Heritage (coin toss)
West controls it's destiny down the stretch. West has big game Friday at Bearden that should settle up 1 and 2 in the district.
I could be wrong but I think the standing look like this:
1. West
2. Bearden
3. LC
4. Maryville
5. Catholic
6. Farragut
7. WB
8. Heritage

Good Luck.....

Congrats Coach P! We beat Smith Co down at Catholic, glad to see things are staying the same. Love the offense coach!
-
Powell impressed me! I picked AC and was 100% wrong. Great game Panthers!
-
Great job Irish! Good win aginst WB...... Ok, (sprinkler malfunction 09') against WB, give me a break TPoole, you sound like an excuse from A-E when they play at Catholic but the only exception is William blount has zero excuses for something making them a slower team than they already are. We are glad to have Coach Meadows and that will not change. Go Irish!!
-
I am going to skip watching my Irish play William Blount to go see this game. I'm going to take Anderson Co 41-34.
-
So I picked Bearden to win by 39, and they won by 33..... Not too bad.
-
Webb or Halls????

Tope 5 teams:
1. Bearden Best perimeter game in the state any classification
2. Carter 5 starters back. Lester Wilson front runner for Mr. Basketball in AA
3. Central Best point guard around with plenty of athletic players around him
4. West Stafford and plenty more good players. Got a taste last year.
5. Catholic Great size and shooters
Close A.E.,
Top ten players:
1. Wilson Carter
2. Green Bearden
3. White Bearden
4. Matheu Central
5. Stafford West
6. Fair Bearden
7. Lopez A.E.
8. Bennett Carter
9. Moore Halls
10. Big post from Powell?
2.
I agree with most of your post. Fulton has a couple of pretty good guards in Lawson and Campbell; I think they could replace Fair, Moore, and the big post from Powell in the top ten. Also I give the nod to Bodewig from Catholic as the top Center in Knoxville over the Powell Center.

worst post in this entire thread.
I have seen both of these teams play this year and there is no doubt in my mind that it will not be a close ballgame at all. I have a non bias opinion and a Catholic fan, so there would be no reason for me to hate on Rhea Co. If anything I would want Bearden to lose but that will not happen Friday night.
-
Bearden 56 Rhea Co. 17.

Great football game. Glad my Irish won, Farragut played better than I expected. Now lets go down to our old stopping grounds on Magnolia and get a win vs AE next week! On the bright side for Farragut football, you scored 2 more points than your baseball team did vs Catholic
-
Don't know a thing about Catholic this year except they lost a couple of important skill guys, and Kerbyson is All-World at OL. If there's any catholic people still on this site, what other players can we look forward to seeing? I assume Meadows is still runnung the spread. Has Corum changed the defense any?
I am a Catholic fan that is still alive.... Farragut won last week in the best way that could have to gain momentum entering this game at Catholic. I have seen both teams play so I am going with Catholic by 10. New season, we wont leave the ball on the 2-yard line this year.
Week 2:CPA vs Knox Catholic
in Class 3A & Class 4A

If Catholic is down, why would CAK not want to play Catholic?
