  1. Well well worden. Did you even read the post. there is a link to a video on you tube. the quote in the post was copied directly off the you tube site as the description for the video. Quote from you tube poster not me. I just linked it and copied it. did you even watch the video. some body caught him clearly coaching in a AAU tournament on video. lot of ignorance but not in the post. it was just a reporting of another post.

When you open a can of worms, get ready for the "fertilization" to start.

  2. BC, appreciate the information and could you enlighten us on who Hester Gibbs was. We know who Brandon is.

    TSSAA Hall of Fame

    Category: Coach

    Birth: October 6, 1937

Teacher/Coach 31 years (Lebanon HS)...coached football, baseball, basketball, and

golf...won 500 games in basketball...made 3 TSSAA State Basketball Tournament

    appearances (1969, 1972, 1985)...served as a TSSAA official for 44 years...named

the Tennessean Mid-State Basketball Coach of the Year 3 times...the gymnasium floor

at Lebanon High School is named the ???Hester Gibbs Court???in his honor.

  3. Did Marshall serve on Dillard's staff last year at Gordonsville or did he come over directly from Oakland????

Marshall and Dillard did coach together at Lebanon during the late 80's and early 90's under Coach Medley.

Dillard followed Medley as the head coach at Lebanon for 4 years. Marshall left for Smyrna during those years and took over the Lebanon job after Dillard.

  4. Did Oakland even go to the playoffs in the 90's as a 7AAA representative?

90 Champion Lebanon and Runner-up Oakland???

91 Champion Riverdale and Runner-up Lebanon

92 Champion Riverdale and Runner-up Lebanon

    93 Region play begins

Best I can remember Oakland did finish 2nd in 90, the post Clinic Bowl years. Lebanon beat Oakland that year 14 - 0 in week 8 at MTSU. This would have been one of Rankin's first years at Riverdale, possibly finishing 4-6 that year.

  5. I always liked the old District 7 format where only the top two teams went to the playoffs. It made every game count and you had to up your game to stay in the race. Of course when we had the old district format in 7, OHS was always either the champs or runner-up.

  6. Lady Devils struggle early scoring 5 points in the first quarter and ZERO in the 2nd quarter. Lebanon trailed by 20 something points at one point in the game. However, they go on to score 49 in the 2nd half, out scoring Lincoln County's 46 total points for the game. Best of luck to the girls as they play Lawrence County Monday night.

  8. When Sparta stunk at basketball there fans were no where to be seen. Get your mind right. Its all about how good your team is. Siegel Nation will not ever be as good as it was when Ramsey, Oden, and Roper played. Your fans have nothing better to do anyways. There the trashiest team/fans in the district. The team has always lacked class and doesnt know what to do when there losing late but foul hard. Its cheap and ridiculous. From the sounds of everything your lucky Mr. MVP Delaney is not suspended for the 1st game of districts. I never had respect for him.

Delaney suspended: then Sparta could be similar to that Siegel team.

  9. Coach Brown has done good job of restoring some life into the program. He did inherit some pretty good athletes from the previous coach who had taken their lumps playing as freshmen and sophomores. His biggest achievement was to restore their confidence after 3 years of a lot of negativity. I think he has done a good job with year's team that has a very good first 5, but lacks in depth. They should finish in the top 4 in 7-AAA and should advance to the region for the 2nd consecutive year, but I don't think they will be able to advance past that because of their limited scoring ability. Next year could see some drop off with the loss of 3 major contributors. Ebony Marshall, Jasmin Brooks, and Icelyn Elie will be very tough to replace.

Icelyn will return while older sister London leaves the starting rotation.

  10. LEBANON HAS GREAT POTIENTIAL AND SOME WOULD SAY THAT THEY COULD GO ALL THE WAY THIS SEASON. WHEN LEBANON LEARNS TO STAY WITHIN THE TEMPO AND TAKE OVER THE GAME AND PUT TEAMS AWAY WHEN THEY HAVE A 30 POINT LEAD MORE THAN HALF OF THE GAMES THAT LEBANON WILL PLAY CAN BE A BLOW OUT. THE COACH WORKED A MIRACLE WITH THESE GIRLS FROM WINNING 4 GAMES IN ONE YEAR TO ALREADY BEING 9 AND 4 AND UNDEFEATED IN THIER DISTIRICT. THE TWIN TOWERS HAVE A GREAT ADVANTAGE IN SOME GAMES BUT WILL THEY STEP UP AND TAKE OVER A GAME LIKE THEY COULD? MARSHALL AND BROOKS HAVE STEPPED IT UP ALOT THIS YEAR AND MARSHALL HAS REALLY STEPPED UP IN SOME GAMES AND JUST COMPLETELY TOOK OVER. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Winning a region tournament game would be significant for this team.

Winning two region tournament games would be extremely special, and that does not happen very often for most teams.

  11. Well first of all im from Gordonsville, and i played in gordonsville in 2000 and 2001 and Bob Dillard is not a legend, and #2 everybody dies even legends. But keep in mind ill make this short and sweet South pitt fans we may lose the game this Friday night but one things for sure, we will fight u guys tooth and nail for 48 mins and if we win ok and if we lose ok but may God be on both sides for a tough battle in South Pitt. Thank u #1 tiger fan

Who was it that scored the late touchdown in 1984 Championship?

(only Championship of school and is not a legend????)

How come I keep hearing that story 23 years later.....legends come from history retold over and over.

  12. wow....are you kidding???? I have never known that Watertown success is a pre-cursor to success at the 5A level. They haven't won their own region in what, 100 years. What in the world can be learned in watertown to give birth to a state title? And Sallis, with a heart of a Lion? Up until this year he couldn't even take full hold of the starting job. And, now that he has he can't stay healthy. Lebanon will not get past Smyrna, and if they do, WC or Riverdale will absolutely eat their lunch in round 3. They are a 4th place seed and that is where they belong, and if they survive the pit, congrats, but that will be it. There is no "we" or "us" in team either, but there is a "me".....just saying.....

But being the Defensive Coordinator on the Trousdale County Football State Champions couldn't hurt.....

As for Sallis holding the starting job..... look at what happened when he didn't start, then what he did during the middle of the game when he returned to his role.

Realistically, Lebanon should not win this game as a 4th seed at a very special place, but this team is capable of beating teams they shouldn't.

  13. I wasn't around back in those days either. My first times watching Oakland the top teams in the area were Oakland, Gallatin, Lincoln County, and Lebanon actually. We were in districts and only the top 2 teams went and they were always Oakland and Lebanon. Gallatin was a dang machine with around 100 dressed out every game and a thorn in everyone's side. They already had the indoor facility, and Calvin Short was a dang legend. David Alsup was Oakland's HC and Medley was Lebanon's. Some of the best games I have seen were b/t Oakland and Lebanon b/c they were always for the championship. Coach Moose was the DC at Lebanon, and Louie Thompson was the HC at Lincoln County at the time and STILL is. It is amazing to me that the same guy is still at the helm in LC......those were the days of Kelly Holcomb who was as polished at QB as just about anyone since. He was one of many QB legends that have come out of LC. I mean where do they get those kids????? Whatever happened to that Medley guy?

Mark Medley is the Principal at Gordonsville Elementary. He currently is the offensive coordinator for the Gordonsville High School football team. The head coach is one of his former players/coaches/& successor at Lebanon, Bob Dillard.

  14. i think it's about time lebanon goes for a quarterback change to start winning some gamess that offense is all run except for the fade route

I would venture to say that LHS has thrown the fade route on less than 50% of their attempts. Last year, maybe, they threw that route more.

Watching the games this year, I doubt that you will find a better situation than the past few weeks at QB....what a competitor. Time and time again Sallis has led the team to do what it takes to maintain possession of the ball in critical times either by running, scrambling, or throwing the ball.

To say that a QB change is needed......speaks volumes for your opinion......Sallis is a winner.

The next QB will be exciting as well.....very similar to what Sallis did in the Smyrna game I would say. Good luck to both in the future.

  15. Ill have to say I was very disappointed in Lebanon, they played nowhere near the fire and tenacity as they did on thursday and when jasmine brooks went down, it was like the collective life was taken out of lebanon. If Brooks is out for any length of time along with the 2 game suspension of elie, Im afraid that Lebanon will be dealt with rather harshly in the first round of the regionals

The player ejected was neither of the Elie sisters.

  16. More importantly.....were YOU personally at this game to prove that he DIDN'T do it? Yeah, just what I thought......you weren't.

Personally, I have seen this player play many games the last couple years, including Friday night. I was curious how he would respond without the "other guys". I did not think he could carry his team, yet he has shown more than I thought he would.

However, as I try to remember through the years of someone in 7AAA that approached an official before and several times during a game, I draw a blank.

Remembering the great Oakland, Sparta, Lebanon, the good Blackman teams a few years back, and even the Luna years at Warren County, I have yet to recall anyone of the great players lead the way that Cutter does.

Siegel's team has some good young talent that will have the opportunity to be highly competitive in the next few years. We will all remember certain players, from all the 7AAA teams, years down the road, some more than others. How this particular young man is remembered is still yet to be determined. If he was a Senior right now, it would be a shame that many would look at him through a pessimistic point of view. He has an opportunity to be remembered for something that very few athletes in 7AAA can ever say, 4 year starter. As a fan of the game, I would hope that I will remember Cutter as that skinny little kid that could shoot lights out as a freshmen, and grew up not only in stature, but also as a leader. Right now I don't believe I will remember him as such.

  17. So were you one of the officials discussing technique? If not how did you hear the conversation.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The conversation between the player and the official was much more than dialogue. Much exaggerated demonstration of future particular occurences was what was viewed by this spectator.

Most importantly, the kid should respect the game more by participating with his team during warm-ups. His conversation with the demonstrations could have been discussed with the officals and the opposing team during the captains meeting.

This type occurence is not a display of team spirit or of a competitive nature.

  18. Pregame warm-up Most People: Lay-ups, 3 on 2, Shell, Shooting, etc.

Pregame warm-up Cutter: Explaining to the Officials what they should look for when so and so do so and so to him during the game.

Good Offensive Player, but IMO is not on a playing level in which he can walk over to the officials standing across from the scorers table sideline and discuss technique of officiating a game.

Mind you this is before the game. Good Grief!!! Shut Up and Play.

If he continues this he will be remembered more for his tantrums on the floor (like Oden's T's) than his offensive playing ability.

.....Remember that kid from Siegel that used to......

  19. I thought someone said that Cutter had stopped all of his crying and complaining during games. I've never seen someone cry to the official as much or have more ailments than him from the start to the finish of a game.

I know he can play offense, but that boy has got more problems than a math book!!!

  21. Speaking on the "great student section debate"

People may call it bandwagon or whatever...but its a fact of life

You win, you have crowds and lots of support

    You lose, you don't.

It's as simple as that. Happens everywhere not confined to Murfreesboro. High school, college, professional sports.

    Win and they will come.

Didn't The Nation have its foundation from the first year when mediocrity was at best for Siegel's basketball team. It seemed as though the first year is when the organized jargon of slogans, chants, and cheers began, though in a mild form. This was the beginning of when people noticed that the students were beginning the new traditions.

  22.

Lebanon was fortunate White Co. had a few players sick. It allowed them to keep the game closer than it should have been.

Maybe sickness did give Lebanon more opportunities. However, the Devils have greatly improved since game 1.

    He was hacked.

Again, should have been "NO CALL"

Different if he was shooting and got knocked over, but it didn't happen.

Again, should have been "NO CALL"
