  1. Jeff co. is always IMAC in my book. It is hard for me(being old school) to rally around SC,Seymour and SD being IMAC. If they are going to let 6a and 5a be in a conference together to "cut down on travel", why not put 4a in there too and really cut it down?

I may get used to it..................but no time soon.

  2. I don't need buddies to back me up. You took shots at an 18 year old kid that you even admitted warranted an apology. I called you out on it and you did not like it. I am not afraid to call you a coward here or anywhere else and don't need backup. I told you where I would be and do not have time in my schedule to run around to various other places waiting on you. If you don't want to be called out for what you say, don't say it.

  3. I got caught up in the moment and went too far about Tee. He is a gifted athlete and hopefully has a great future ahead of him. All the rest of the stuff, however, I stand behind. If you would like to discuss futher wheather or not I am a coward, let me know when and where you would like to meet and we will discuss it face to face. Not on a meesage board.

I will be at the East high practice field Tue. afternoon. I drive a silver Tacoma. Bet ya don't show.

  4. After all the mindless crap, here is what everyting comes down to. After all the brevado: 1)East sux. 2) No one with East knows a thing about real football, they just think they do, because they liststen to the MORONS on the radio and the streets/barber shops, message boards and think they are in touch through osmosis, in short;they are MORONS as well. 3) Tee can't take anyone hitting him in the mouth, he pees his pants (I smelled it from the stands). 4) Look for excuses if you are East ('cause they are the best at it ...Tee was hurt, quarterback got hurt, fullback quit,....blah,blah,blah, bottom line....East got their butts kicked, pure and simple. Find a way to whine. East Loosers....

Strong comments about a 18 year old kid you don't know. I have not read ONE excuse for this loss and have not heard ONE made. We got outplayed by a better team. We had kids hurt in the game. Dee Dee did not quit, he may be hurt worse than imagined. I have seen Tee hit hard his whole career and keep going. We have underachieved this year big time. There is NO excuse for that.

Thanks for remaining a nameless, faceless coward. You suite Morristown well.

  5. East's defense has everything fixed? Did you hear the stuff Matt Helton said in the paper? haha. he said i doubt morristown west will even score on our defense??

Do you not realize that your defense isnt even ranked in the top 250 in the state of tennessee? Hahah. theirs only 350 teams. lol

Funny, what paper was that? I never read that or heard where he said that.

  6. How will weather be a factor? Low of 57, chance of rain unlikely. The forecast could not be more mild.

How exactly does cool weather favor East?

Cooler the weather is, the better it is for East's, because of the players who will be going both-ways.

Weather being mild, Conditioning should 'nt be a problem. Morristown West has over 80 players,

and no-one plays both-ways. We'll take any break we can get.

Canefan72 how did practice go today? How did #40 Matt Helton ankle look? has Tee-Howell return

    to practice? GO CANES! :roflol:

I did not get to go today. I will give you an update when rockhead gets home. :roflol:

  7. We looked better against Cherokee but that was not a real measure of how better we have gotten. We tackled poorly against AE and very poorly against Cleveland. I know the speed they had played a big factor in that as well. My point being this: playing a senior or junior over a soph. increases your chances of making a play. The young guys rotating in and sometimes starting will have fewer reps and the upper classmen more. Will it fix the problem? Maybe. Will it give us a bteer lineup that will make plays? Yes.

  8. They've done this in the past in big games? Does that include the two games they lost? If so, is it possible that conditioning maybe played a small part in the fact that East did not win those games?

Conditioning won't be a factor? That's such a weird statement to make so confidently.

If you don't want my answers, don't ask me the question.

Yes we lost 2 games and tackling was the problem not conditioning.

  9. What I am saying is that the guys going both ways is around 40% of the reps on D now. They may up it to 80% for this game. They have been doing it all year and will just up the reps for the ones doing it.

Not questioning you, just curious: how good is your info here? You aren't a coach at East, obviously, but you do seem to attend most gatherings that the team has. Is this a fact coming from someone in charge that East is going to play more guys both ways from now on? Is it linemen that are going both ways? LB's? Secondary?

If so, conditioning could factor into the outcome. West hasn't significantly played anyone both ways since the late 90's (to their detriment, perhaps, at times), and I imagine that that hasn't changed.

I appreciate any info you care to share.

They have done this in the past in big games and even more times than others this year. Conditioning will not be a factor.

  10. These young players

(5-6 guys) will be good players by the end of the year or sometime next year. We just going have

    too play more guys both-ways.

Is this something East might do in the middle of the season? Start playing more guys both ways? Seems like an odd time to me. I don't coach football, though, and certainly not in eastern Morristown.

What I am saying is that the guys going both ways is around 40% of the reps on D now. They may up it to 80% for this game. They have been doing it all year and will just up the reps for the ones doing it.

  11. He has already gotten the MRI, and the results have already came in.

but, i talked to him, and he said whether the doctors allow him or not... He's gonna play.

I hear that MRI came back good. He plan to return to practice today. If this is not right, please

    up-date.

Getting #40 Helton back on defense & Tee-Howell back, gives East's a better chance of winning.

Canefan72, do you think how our defense lines up is the key problem with our tackling?

3 or 4 times last week, we line up with more people on the short side of the field than the wideside.

We were out number on every sweep play to the wideside of the field.

    :popcorneater:

    Go Canes!

#40 had a concussion and missed the Cherokee game. He returned to practice and rolled an ankle yesterday but should be good to go for the West game. Tee should play and I will let you know if he practices today.

The issues east has had have been against teams that spread it out. There is alot of youth on that side of the ball. I look for alot of guys to go both ways at times against west to offset this.

It should be a good game and too close to pick a winner.

  12. I just noticed on prep extra that whoever reports the stats for Scott needs a lesson on what is a tackle. There is a player listed with 10 solos and 44 assists in 3 games. 10 and 44? Please!!!!! There is no way this can be accurate. If you look further, the top 4 assist leaders are all from Scott. The stats read:

    1. 10S 44A

    2. 3S 29A

    3. 2S 28A

    4. 2S 19A

Falling on a pile or pushing the pile do not count as assists. This is giving credit where credit is not due and a player like Hawkins from AE or Troutman from Carter should top this list. Get it right for the integrity of the game.

  13. Terrell Warren had a big game while Tee Howell had limited action. Matt Helton,Nick Free and Johnny Bell had big nights on D and East was in control from the opening kick. Demetrius Clark had a 60+ yard TD run and Ricker looked solid as well. Overall good line play on both sides of the ball. Great game for the Canes'. Celebrating this win ends Mon. @ 5pm. It is now Cleveland week.

  14. We need to work on some things but a win is a win and AC had a great QB/WR combo. East did a good job taking away the run but our pass D looked ragged. This is the polar opposite of last week. Matt Helton played a second good game at MLB and found out that he had hands on the ends of his arms with a nice pick. Dee Dee Johnson ran HARD all night and Tee was Tee. D.Clark played very well as did Ricker and Blanton. No serios injuries and looking forward to next week.
