I heard that Couey and Ash hated eachother. as for the girls coaches not coming back, I cant say I disagree. They were loaded with talent and didn't make it out of the region. Blackman had no where near the talent but Hibdon put on a coaching clinic!!!

Friendofnone...How is the "BIG BOY" buffet? Why do you bad mouth LaVergne and it's coaches, aren't you a graduate of LHS?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but here is what I was told. LaVergne returns every player from last years roster but 2 ( One of which was a role player). LaVergne played Oakland twice in 08-09 and should have split after an OT loss at LHS by 2...and that was w/o 2 of their top 3 players. Oakland returns basically Jamal and LaVergne returns virtually their entire team plus some. At MTSU team camp LaVergne killed Germantown and lost to state tournament bound Beech by 3 as the buzzer went off. Mark it down by February, LaVergne will be very hard to beat.

When Oakland makes the hire, I would like to see someone here for the long haul. Coach Green doesnt strike me as a guy that can stay in 1 place for too long. Has he ever left East Tennessee?

No disrespect to Coach Couey, just stating facts-his overall record when he was with us was 4-42 in two years. I just don't see him as the fit at a program like Oakland has right now, maybe later though.

i dont think Coach Coueys record could be 4-42 when they won 10 games his second year after graduating 6-7 seniors the year before he got there and another 5 after his first year - cchs is a death trap for football and basketball-look at the football program!

Some of the names that jump out for me are Marcus Hicks--NS, Julian Robinson--Obion Central, Tony Delk, Jeff King--JCM, Marious Transou--Denmark West, and a guy from Ripley that played in early 90's, and Marcus Williams--UC.

I agree, I think they will be fine. I was in no way trying to put down the Cannon Co.'s girl squad. I shouldn't have said they got slaughtered, but we were owned the whole game. Back to the original post, Cannon Co. does have a boys assistant, but for some reason he wasn't coaching the boys. It was left up to Dodgen

 

LION 15 MAYBE YOU DONT GET OUT MUCH ,BUT -I HAVE NOT SEEN COACH COUEY HAVE ANY ASSISTANTS BESIDES COACH DODGEN- HE HAS A VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT WHO HAS NEVER HAD TO COACH BEFORE-BUT THATS IT -THEY ONLY HAVE 6-7 ACTUAL JV KIDS THAT INCLUDES FRESHMAN AND SOPHS.-COACH DODGEN IN MY OPINION DOES A GREAT JOB EVERYWHERE HE'S BEEN --HISTORY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF AND SOMETIMES PLAYERS HAVE TO MAKE PLAYS- BECAUSE COACHES CANT PLAY FOR THEM!

CANNONS COACH DIDNT YELL AT A FAN -- HE GOT 2 TECHNICALS FROM THE REFS--THE DEKALB FANS CAME ON THE FLOOR TRYING TO TAUNT THE COACH AND HIS PLAYERS- DEKALB WAS LUCKY THE WHOLE THING DIDNT GET OUT OF HAND-IT WAS NOT HANDLED BY SECURITY VERY WELL

Records never matter? Their records are close to the same! Big Bailey kid is back and Cannon will start rolling when he gets back in the flow- Look for Cannon to exploit Dekalb's bench - they have none

Dekalb & Macon seems to be struggling- whats up with them?

Smith Co. seems to be improved, but are they big enough to compete with the top teams in the district?
