Brayden has transferred to Lakeway Christian in Morristown which is a D2 school.   Normally according to TSSAA transfer rules Brayden would have to sit out this entire season but because Lakeway Christian is a 1st year program, he will be able to wrestle the full High School season but he will not be able to participate in any post season tournaments including individual State’s.  Lakeway will also not be able to compete in the state dual tournament either.

    Wow! Thanks for the information.

    5) DAVID HARPER- SOPHOMORE 195 (FREAKY ATHLETIC UNDERCLASSMAN)

    6) SKYLAR COFFEE- SENIOR HWT (RANKED 7TH BY FLO) I HOPE HIM AND HOWARD COMPETE AGAINST ONE ANOTHER SOMETIME THIS SEASON.

    7) JAMES HOWARD- SOPHOMORE HWT (DOUBLE FARGO ALL AMERICAN IN CADETS THIS SUMMER) I GIVE THE EDGE TO COFFEE ON A WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY BASIS.

    8) CHRISTIAN ISBELL-SENIOR 132 (TOUGH SENIOR)

    HONORABLE MENTION NO ORDER

    JACKSON BOND (10) BAYLOR

    TREY BATES (11) BEECH

    GARRET BOWERS (12) CBHS

    CONNOR DUFFY (12) BAYLOR

    BROOKS SACHARCZYK (12) BLACKMAN

HUNTER MASON (9) GREENVILLE - IN MY OPINION THE TOUGHEST KID IN THE FRESHMAN CLASS. I BELIEVE HE WILL BE HIGHSCHOOL READY IMMEDIATELY AND POTENTIALLY THE BEST WRESTLER IN A-AA THIS YEAR.

My main criteria are who I believe would actually win a match at the same weight class, and strength of wins/national placement. Thoughts?

Horst lost to Palmer in a wrestle off for 126 at Beech.

Next up is 113. Like 106, the top 3 seem to be set, while 4-6 could go a lot of ways. Seems like we are destined for a Borders/Bradford final, a rematch I’ve been waiting to see since Jackson edged Hunter earlier this year, but keep an eye on Shires of Rossview in that second semi against Bradford. I believe Sammie will be a state champion in tennessee, and possibly a multiple time champion. How close does he get this year?

    Final Picks:

    1. Hunter Borders (Wilson Central)

    2. Jackson Bradford (Cleveland)

    3. Sammie Shires (Rossview)

    4. Glen O’Daniel (Bradley)

    5. Brennan Watkins (Dobyns Bennett)

    6. Javelle Gillespie (Science Hill)

    One match away:

Alex Rose (Blackman), Kolin Koss (Bartlett)

I called the Borders/Bradford match at this years Day of Duals in Tullahoma.

It was very close. Could have gone either way. Expect the same very close match in the state finals.

Not 100% sure how it went down with Science Hill vs Bradley, but I can say, Science Hills coach went to the table at some point EVERY match against centennial. And after a while it looked like it started to be on purpose about some the give his kids a rest because they were gassing in all of their matches.

I noticed that too. It's called impeding the orderly progression of the match. If its noticed as such by the offical, it could earn another unsportsmanlike conduct. Somewhere a coaches code of ethics has to kick in.

From what I saw there was a bad call by the officials in the 113 pound match and Coach Miller wasn't exactly happy about it and I believe he got a point taken for not going to the table to question the call, but instead was saying things from the bench but like I said I could be wrong. Wouldn't have mattered anyway because Bradley would have won on criteria for winning more matches. I believe it was 8 matches to 6 matches but Science Hill had more bonus point wins.

as always with TN refs, the stalling calls get ridiculous, that I can't blame the coach.

That's your opinion you have. But depending on how that match would have been decided had it been tied and gone to criteria....that lapse in judgement by the coach might have been what cost his team a place on the medal stand. That's my opinion.

If this is true...then yes wouldnt have mattered anyways.

Is it me, or are there more penalties being assessed in this tournament? I'm not there for this one, but I'm noticing a trend. Can anyone elaborate how Science Hill got the penalty point against Bradley?

Coach was repeatedly complaining about stalling calls from the bench.

Dual event and noun, right? Duel the purpose or action of the event. A verb... Jmo

    Actually

Dual is an adjective meaning having 2 parts

Duel is a verb or a noun meaning a conflict between two entities.

    That's what Google says anyways....:???:

Well in my opinion as a fan I like the view the cow palace brings instead of being in the nose bleed section anywhere you sat at UTC the wrestlers looked liked ants where as at the cow palace you can see pretty good across the place and watch solid wrestling the whole tournament.

Totally agree. Parking is 1000% better also.

Well I was gonna ignore him but I just cant.

Definition of dual. Consisting of 2 parts, elements or aspects.

Definition of duel. A contest between 2 persons or parties.

One can be a duel dummy by virtue of being the loser. But one can't be a dual dummy, unless they have a partner who is just as dumb as them.

Which sort of dummy are you?

"Duels"???  Can we stop calling it duels.  It is a DUAL.  With an A.

You all want us to take A/AA seriously and you can't even get this right.

Traditionally we have always called our matches between schools "duals" but the actual definition of the word dual...is having two parts as in " Dual exhausts". Conversely the definition of the word duel is a conflict between two entities. Not saying hes right or wrong but the definition of the word duel actually seems to be more appropriate considering. I wouldnt beat him up too bad for using either of the two. ;-):D

Go into seasons and pick Tennessee. Click teams on the top bar then any one of these teams. I didn't know the team list so I went to Brentwood. Scroll down and you'll see it on their schedule. When you click it it will say there aren't any duals scheduled or something. Right above that you will see 'teams'. If you click that you can see a list of the teams scheduled to attend.

Thank you for the info! Very much appreciated!
