BC 58-16. I was disappointed no match at 119 but the BC coaches know what they are doing. The 130 match was awesome.

Also the Biggs vs Talley was the best I saw all day.

so they forfieted to bates and biggs.... strategy i guess saving their guys for later matches. who won the biggs/ talley match? :hungry:

  4. staring down the barrel at 3 potential region rematches in AAA in the consolations quarters (Blk-MJ, Clark-Dickson Co, Houston-Cordova)... how did this occur? 2 are likely and I would not be surprised if all 3 happen. Then probably Indy-Ravenwood in the consolation semis.

    cross-bracketing?

  5.

A Blackman High volunteer wrestling assistant coach has been dismissed by Rutherford County Director of Schools Harry Gill Jr. because of inappropriate language found on the coach’s Facebook page.

Kenneth Hammonds, who has been a volunteer coach for nine seasons, has been told he no longer can volunteer there after a parent discovered the Facebook page and reported it to the Rutherford County Schools central office.

School spokesman James Evans said the language was not sexual in nature, but it was “inappropriate in nature.â€

“He had given several students access to his Facebook page and was communicating with kids through that,†Evans said. “We feel it’s important to keep a professional buffer.

“We’ve been training principals and teachers for a number of years about the importance of keeping that buffer, such as not giving cell phone numbers and texting students.â€

Evans said that buffer includes not using personal web pages, personal e-mail or social media such as Facebook and Twitter to have direct contact with students because it could lead to inappropriate situations.

Hammonds said he was upset over the dismissal.

“I poured my heart and soul into Blackman and never thought something like this would happen,†Hammonds said. “I’m heartbroken about it.â€

Evans said Hammonds was solely a volunteer.

“He was not an employee of the school district,†Evans said.

Hammonds had been approved solely to volunteer for Blackman High wrestling by the school board. Evans said Hammonds could apply to volunteer at a different school, but he didn’t know the likelyhood that Hammonds would be approved.

Evans said Hammonds hadn’t received that specific training with the central school office, but all principals have been told to go through the training with teachers, coaches and volunteers.

Evans said he did not know if Blackman High principal Gail Vick held any previous training with Hammonds. Vick deferred all questions to Evans.

“He agreed it was inappropriate,†Evans said of Hammonds. “He’s been very cooperative. He apologized and admitted he probably shouldn’t have had it.â€

Hammonds said the language was on his profile page on Facebook.

“When you log on, you don’t go to that,†Hammonds said. “I hadn’t seen it in forever. I hate how it turned out.â€

i know that coach hamm will be missed at blackman. hes a great coach and an even more awesome person.

  6. The actual score was 6-2 as Feuerbacher earned 2 Nearfall pts on the throw before time ran out, but it wasn't recorded. Video posted on my Facebook of the match if anyone is interested in watching. Ward is one tough kid! Held Feuerbacher down the entire 2nd period.

can i get a friend request coach? :hungry:

  7. .

Ok, I'll make it simple. You are touting your team all over this board and even had the newspaper right an article on you guys being 14-0 for the first time in school history. Basically I'm calling you out for lying, for scheduling the worst schedule in the history of wrestling, and then to have the audacity to tout your accomplishments when you haven't wrestled any of the top 5 schools in your own hometown. Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it.

  8. Have there been any 5x state medalists in D-I ... ???

*Tim Voiles (Lk Vly) was a 5x state qualifier but did not medal all 5 years

*Philip Simpson was a 5x qualifier and 4x champ ... (D-I qualifier as an 8th grader when it was one tourney in 1997 ... was in same weight in '97 with first girl Andi Jones, Casey Brewster, Erik Floyd, Matt McCarty etc

*Jeremy Miller would have done it in Tenn., if he had stayed at Greenback ..

In D-II, Alex Manley and T.J. Duncan will be 5x'ers this year and Zach Watson next year ...

Jordan Leen (Bay) 3-1-1-1-1 Philip Simpson (MBA) 0-1-1-1-1 .. Lee Connell (McC) 4-2-2-1-1

Trey Stavrum (Bay) 4-6-6-3-2 and maybe others

    b.b.b.

which year did miller not place?

That's all from memory, sorry it's patchy.

your getting old my friend!

( are Rakim and Adam Wells related in any way?) :popcorneater:

  10. Yes Brennen is back, he makes it sound like he got the reversal with ten seconds left. The first period was very even, neither could get in any good positions. Brennen defended very well on his feet, and Hayden defended the front headlock extremely well. Hayden got an escape In the second and they danced again for the rest of the period. The third period, Brennen got a reversal and locked up a very tight cradle then moved into a double trouble. They stopped it for potentially dangerous as Hayden has a bad knee. With about 1.30 left Brennen rode him for the entire period. There wasn't a best match awarded but if there was this would have easily gotten it. We will get to see a rematch on Tuesday when Indy travels to Clarksville for a tri with them and Clarksville NE or maybe NW, not quite sure.

    wrestlinggod....

can you post the tournament results.... individual and team? thanks.

Great video! but did anyone else besides me think that the brandon kid could have done more to keep from being pinned? he really did look as though he had never been on his back before. he wasnt bridging, not saying that he was even able to, depending on if his head was restricted by tjs. half nelson. he was also just pushing across the mat with the heels of his feet and then at the end his legs just went "dead". just my observation. but to me uncharateristic of a nationally ranked wrestler.

  12. I really don't understand why TJ Duncan isn't ranked I mean to be a 4x state champion and has lost very few matches you would think he would be ranked somewhere in the country

i would say with those kind of credentials and pinning a nationally ranked opponent, if hes not ranked currently he will be or at the very least should be. :thumb:

  13. i'll just put a penny in on this one... so dont jump on me guys ;) i was a ref at the tullahoma duels. i personally remember at least 2 wrestlers on the williamsom county team that were wearing nashville catholic socks. it was pointed out by there own wrestlers when i commented on how talented their team was and particularlly one of the kids, that they indeed were "affiliated" with the program at nashville catholic. no big deal then and do big deal now. didnt really think about it at all. just thought they were really good wrestlers. just my penny on this subject. bcb trademark smiley flowery thingy.

  14. not sure y the young soms isnt wrestling. with obrien, morris, heath, and lysigen (sp) deciding not to wrestle for blackman this year, it will make it hard for them to compete as a team for duel wins. they still have a great group of wrestlers. and some great coaching at blackman! :roflol: young soms was at the quad match watching from the stands last week in the gym.
