This game will come down to two things, just like all playoff games.....who can make the fewest mistakes & make the biggest plays. I have one question.....what does the Yanker think about this game? He knows all...GO BIG RED!!!

I have been told by a fairly reliable source that the Yanker is in the hospital in Jackson and is not doing very well at all. I heard that a few days ago and haven't heard anything different since then.

Couldn't find a better one!   I'd be shocked if he strayed our of East Tennessee again though.

I don't have a horse in this race but I do have "a friend who has a friend" who says he's "in the know", and if that's true, then the candidate who I've heard has been offered the job does have a ring, but it's not Rang. Of course, my information is third or fourth hand, so it may not be accurate at all.

Yeah I believe people need to take this game more seriously. This is not a pushover. Trust me. Their defense has improved a lot. They have speed!

Listen to kwc and the Senator...but this game won't be even as close as they think. My sources in Memphis are unconcerned for HC in this game...get ready for round 3!

Count me as a rememberer too.  I try to stir up the enemy but never with the success you had.

I never realized that I had that reputation. I actually believed what I was saying but was maybe more blunt than I should've been. My wife has always told me that and my AD always said that I was a bit on the blunt side. Oh well, everyone knew where I stood. Good luck tonight Henry County. It sounds like this is one of the better teams in recent years.

Amen to that! Wonder how the "foreigners" on here would respond if the Red Warrior were still posting on here. Speaking of, I wonder what has happened to him. He had an uncanny ability to stir the pot to a feverish level.Maybe he is waiting for Germantown week since his field of expertise was Memphis area schools I for one would love to hear from him. Also, what has happened to Fastcat, a Kenwood homie, who always extolled the Knights and any other Clarksville team the Patriots were playing?

                         GO BIG RED.

Bring on the "foreignors"! For those who don't remember me, I'm a retired coach of 30+ years. I did most all of my coaching in the Mississippi/Memphis area. I always read this stuff but a bit of poor health in recent years has kept me from posting. I'm doing better but not out of the woods. I still reside in Henry County but I haven't been to a game in a while. It's nice to be remembered olddevil, so thank you.

  6. Never said I didn't like coach. Actually, I like him. No, not a hillbilly, or illiterate, but may be somewhat of a redneck (depends on your definition of the term). I actually think Joe is a pretty good coach in a lot of respects, but I just feel overall a lot of his teams @ OR have lacked discipline in some areas. Honestly, that's the only issue I have. Does that make him a bad coach? No, I personally just think it is a weakness in coaching that he has. All other coaches have weaknesses too (except maybe Quarles, I'm beginning to think he's perfect). If this makes me a redneck, illiterate, hillbilly fool, then I guess I am. I'll be the first one on here praising him if he goes on to win state this year, and I hope we do, believe that. I'm honestly not the terrible guy some of you folks make me out to be. Just a fan with some different opinions than others, and you know what they say about opinions. I honestly don't think anything I have said has demeaned or degraded the mans character or anything. Some of you guys are way too sensitive. When it's all said and done this is high school football, and some of the things said on here shouldn't be taken nearly as serious as they are. It would be different if I was assassinating the guys character or something, but I haven't. If folks can't handle a little bit of criticism then they shouldn't be here.

I would agree that every coach has a weakness, just like every person does.

  7. Your an idiot. Your in a vast minority if you think that shenanigans happened under Counce. Secondly, gaddis's top players being arrested IN SCHOOL for selling drugs is a direct reflection on him. That's cold hard facts RW

You're the idiot and YOU are wearing blinders. If you don't know what happened with the QB TWO YEARS after Gaddis left then you're a fool too. Or are you going to blame that on Gaddis too, like Obama still blames his woes on Bush. The guy who was arrested at school was a senior who was arrested after Gaddis had already left for NC. I think I would blame that on his parents, the kid himself, and not a coach who was living in another state at the time. Get your facts straight, or better yet, stop talking before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

  8. This is what I have been trying to say all along, but get called an idiot for it. Truth hurts.

If you don't like your coach and don't appreciate your coach, then you don't deserve him and you're a fool. I'm heading back west and getting off of this stupid thread. I always heard Oak Ridge was full of smart people. You all sound like a bunch of hillbilly, redneck, and illiterate fools. I'm out of here. I feel sorry for Gaddis if he's surrounded by fans like most of you.

  9. I love coach Gaddis, he's a great motivator. He's built to turn programs around. But he's not the man to lead you to gold. While at HC he did go to 3 straight semi finals but lost the last 2 with 2 teams who had superior talent compared to their opponent. Two sec players and another OVC back all in the same backfield. He lacked the overall discipline to get to that championship caliber, that's what cost his last 2 teams at HC. Counce had it and is the reason they won gold. To summarize, Gaddis is a great motivator that can turn your team around and make it good to very good. Not disciplined enough to make it great. Good luck OR

Now that's funny. I've heard that before but we all know here in HC that a couple of special athletes did what they wanted to when they wanted to, and when they got in trouble it was overlooked, and this was after Gaddis left. Was it poor discipline that caused Marsallis Teague to fumble inside the 10 yard line near the end of the Maplewood game? No, I don't think so. A great player just made a mistake.

  10. no idea of the crowd support...were only fielding 40 something players this year as opposed to 70...so im thinkin not much at all...the band is kind of embarrassing so id be ok if they stayed home as well...i think they hurt us more than anything

ill be stopping by pregame...nothing like a game in Paris...best atmosphere around

ill predict that at least 1 of the backs has 200+ yards on the ground if we win

i believe that neither offense will be very successful, but liberty is more seasoned in that department and has a 3rd year starter @ qb which will make the difference

HC loses the turnover battle and liberty walks out as the only team to defeat the patriots at home in 2015

What are you smoking? We (HC) will win this one with EASE!
  11. Finally, someone with some sense. Thank you Dave

Who said he was? Tell the truth...what's your beef with Gaddis? Could Quarles or Rankin do what Gaddis did at Tullahoma, Henry County, or Trenton? Take teams that had 5-25 records the three previous years and turn them around almost immediately? We will never know but I'm sure you'll say they can....but based on what? They've never done it before. Rankin is very good but almost anyone can win at Alcoa....the guy before him did....and the guy before that did. Like I said earlier...talk to the communities where Gaddis has coached. I'll bet they love him.

  12. Some would say that the distance he brought those two teams during his time there was further than the coaches that came in after him. Even though they won state championships and he didn't.

Rudy quite obviously has a problem with Gaddis. He must've played for him somewhere and didn't get to play enough. Whatever the case may be with Rudy, his comments make him irrelevant. What Gaddis did at the schools I mentioned is nothing short of amazing. I wish I had the records of Tullahoma, Henry County, and Trenton the years immediately before he arrived at each. It was published in the Jackson Sun but I don't remember the specifics. As I said, even Oak Ridge was down a bit when he got there in the early 90s. When a coach does what he did ONCE....maybe that was luck. But when he turns FOUR PROGRAMS around, I wouldn't describe him as an underachiever...and anyone who does, simply has an ax to grind or they're just not very smart!

  13. I see what you tried to do there, being condescending and all. No one said he's a proven loser, just a proven underachiever. And the year that he did win state, he had 2 players that went to UT so the excuse you made for him is irrelevant

I don't remember hearing about a single player that played for him at OR who did ANYTHING AT ALL at Tennessee. So they were great high school players for Gaddis but Fulmer couldn't get anything out of them? Is that what you're saying?  OK...so Gaddis is an underachiever. Tell that to the communities of Tullahoma, Henry County, and Trenton where he took a program that was nothing and made them a state contender. Or at Oak Ridge where he took a team coming off some bad seasons by OR standards, got drilled 50-0 by Jeff County, and returned them to state power status. I bet everyone would like to an "underachieving" coach like that. And you're right, I am condescending where you're concerned because after reading your posts it's easy to realize that I'm smarter than you.

  14. I dont understand the Gaddis love. i don't know if most people realize that his 96 team at oak ridge had 3 skill players that went to the SEC and he didn't even make it to the championship game. Bohannon(rb) and Mcaddley(wr) went to Alabama where Bohannon was Shaun Alexander's backup and mcaddley played in the NFL. Gipson(wr) signed with Florida when they were defending national champions. Im not sure how many past state champions in tennessee have had talent like that.

I coached for three decades in Mississippi and was a part of three state titles. I can tell you that our best "teams" were the ones void of big time D-1 prospects. Sometimes their presence clouds the whole "team" focus. I don't know the names you mentioned but that was my experience in Mississippi, and we had some D-1 players for sure. But you're probably right...Gaddis is a bad coach, a proven loser! Lol
