1. QUOTE(HaveitYourWay @ Apr 9 2007 - 04:26 PM) 826433299That's a pretty fair assessment, but I think with Central having had Halls' number the past 10 years or so it seems that I would have to put them at 3rd. I'd say...

    1)M-err-yville

2)Knox West(in a close one and perhaps upsetting the allmight maryville this year)

3)Central(no where near the top 2)

4)Halls(better watch out for Clinton or LC if they don't get better on defense from last year)

5)Clinton(could sneak up on some people this year)

6)Lenoir City(has the tallent to get to the playoffs, but each year their defense seems to be lacking)

7)Powell(no D1 tallent to underachieve with, loss of some coaches in the offseason, don't really see them overachieving with less tallent)

8)South Doyle(if the ol' coach out there can get even the slightest amount of discipline out of his players then lookout everyone 3-7, but just dont see them having that muct improvement on defense probably)

    1) Powell

    2) Powell

    3) Powell

    4) Powell

    5) Powell

  2. this is a class we're talking about here, not before or after school workouts. inexcusable

OOOOOHHhHH I am sorry maybe they should have made a MOON PIE class.....

    I think people should keep

their nose out of THEIR business. Period....Unless your Julian or Cooper then you really don't know NOTHING

Dawging on Julian or Cooper other than fun is NOT COOL. so HaveItYourWay...go to Burger King.

  3. QUOTE(uncfan09 @ Apr 23 2007 - 06:50 AM) 826443213The new rules dealing with the sports calendar were talked about in rules meetings across the state. Every coach had an opportunity to contact their respective legislative council member. I know for a fact in middle Tenn. the council members were contacted by softball coaches. The council member that represents my area, Rick Martin, voted the way his coaches in the area wanted. There were other council members that voted the way that Ronnie Carter and his crew wanted the vote to go. The state association continues to put out their propaganda that they are for the betterment of the athlete and coaches. I do not see that as the case. The MTSCA did a pole of members and the majority wanted the sports calendar to stay the same. I am also sick of people saying why do we let this go on. If you appeal anything with TSSAA it is a joke. Mr. Carter can rule on any situation that he wants and there is nothing a school or individual can do about it. Each school signs a form stating that they will abide by all rules set forth by the legislative council and Mr. Carter. This is a catch all phrase. Until there is another option other than TSSAA for schools to play, TSSAA will continue to do whatever they want and there is nothing any school can do about it. I ready to see a TSSAA financial report and see what our director makes and for how long he is going to stay in his post. In my opinion he must be like a supreme court justice and have his appointment for life.

  4. QUOTE(softballrules @ Apr 23 2007 - 06:55 AM) 826443218 Got to watch the Central game where they lost it was an awesome game and they did have Candice In (their ace) she did a great job.

Watched Gibbs a little bit they lost in the ITB rule "Gold Division", I seen atleast one bad call in that game at a first base call but i did hear one of their parents say that the bad call was bad but their girls were not hitting like they have been so they did not to their best to win.

Powell looked good this weekend they played well winning in the "Silver Bracket" they did lose in their pool play games but they seemed to bounce back well.

Halls also played well in their pool play games they lost in ITB in pool play games and they had a pitcher out where their other pitchers did a good job.

I think they were talking about the pool game when Central lost their 1st game not the Mt. Juliet game.....Not sure about who that was but they were playing Bradley I think that was the comment

Powell lost to a very strong GPS for sure

  5. QUOTE(softballscout @ Apr 23 2007 - 06:58 AM) 826443220This has more truth then most pe /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ople realize. You might see a local college coach at the state tourny, if your daughter wants to get prepared for college she must travel and play against the top talent in the nation. My daughter has yet to have college coach say "hey we saw you in the cane ridge fall league". Get your team qualified for the rising stars tourny in florida in October. Great fall tournament and plenty of colleges. Tssaa is in a world of thier own, this is why Alabama and Georgia are getting better and we keep falling behind

AGREE!!!!! Good Reply! WAKE UP SOFTBALL WORLD. Count your blessings that TSSAA did something right this

time for the wrong reason....In other words their decision just helped your daughter for What Her goal is...a

College Education with a little more softball life. I am sure TSSAA will take the credit but I know that they didn't make this decision for your daughters sake. They were tired of all of the complaints with the unofficial Fall league and HS coaches coaching when they weren't suppose to.

  6. well if I'm not mistaken my friends that are playing/have played baseball for coach polston and also played football for coach shepherd or coach julian have told me that the football workouts and the baseball workouts kind of intertwine. coach polston doesn't want his kids working out too much during season which is understandable and the two sports have come to an agreement on workout programs. Now, with weight training being a class that is on school times and sanctioned by whatever proper authorities to be a class, then I don't see how anyone can get around any workout program that may be in place. So, basically, if any random Joe in coach julian's class doesn't want to work out that day, coach julian should be ok with that and not count off on their grades. If julian were to take on this type of attitude with cooper, then he would have to with any kid that wanted special treatment whether for 1 day or the entire semester and then what kind of credibility does he have with the class, the players, the teaching staff at Halls, and his supervisors. the bottom line is that cooper's in the wrong any way you cut it and shouldn't have signed up for the class if he didn't want to work out during basketball and baseball season and should've quit football to keep from working out. You know, how sad is it that kids nowadays dont have the work ethic or want to that people in the past have had. whoever is telling kids that you can't work out and play a sport in the same day is nuts.

Well I am sorry but I disagree with all of you guys. Come on no one knows except those two. Besides couldn't Julian

have him go and water the field or make more MOON PIES? Wouldn't that count for Working Out....sorry I couldn't resist.

  7. QUOTE(orangeman @ Apr 22 2007 - 01:40 PM) 826442884I think Central and Gibbs lost 1st round gold bracket games...

Central also lost to Bradley in pool play....

Powell played Farragut for the silver bracket championship...

Watched some of their games. Gibbs looks good lost in ITB and Central lost by 1 run I think.

And I think Central lost that one game in pool play but I don't think they had their #1 pitcher in. Not sure.

Powell played some good ball this weekend good job girls and Farragut well they are always a threat.

  8. QUOTE(stlbrd @ Apr 22 2007 - 10:05 PM) 826443146Play travel ball. Plenty of college exposure tournaments in the fall. I doubt you ever saw a college coach at a high school "fall league" game.

Agree Agree!!!!! Play some exposure tournaments with your travel team. Really if you want your girl to play

college ball you better go to some exposure tournaments and not worry about High school (REC) fall league where no one sees stats or your daughter. TSSAA?????? Well.....If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all! Nothing else to Say!

  9. Littlemn,

I don't think there is any way to know for sure how good this team is. From results of preseason games against upper division teams, I think it is safe to say that they would have been playoff contenders in the upper division. I have seen a few games from both divisions, and Halls can compete. No team passes better than Halls and the Halls RB may be one of the top 2 or 3 RBs from either division. (IMO he is the best)

That is correct fairplay2121, You will never know because you guys were in division 2. The top 4 teams in the XFL(which is the upper division) are Fulton,Powell,Farragut, and Central. I am not disrespecting anyone and a big congrats to your team for the win.

I heard it has been a long time coming for those boys.

The truth is You beat a West Team that should have been in your division and Lost to a Central team in which I heard hadn't even practiced on offence and then played Farragut Blue which blowed you out of the water.

Truth again I heard you had several interceptions in the Carter game and last of all You must not watch any of XFL teams running backs because Fulton,Farragut,Central and Powell all have equaly talented boys and if we are talking about the truth Bearden(#1 team) does too....

I am sorry to offend you but the truth sometimes becomes muddy when Hi chest bumps are involved and when you are not comparing apples to apples.

Just to let people know Fulton has the team Farragut is Loaded also overall and people better watch out for Powell,Central and Bearden.....

I will say this the RB for Halls does really well and He alone helped that team overcome some big obstacles. He does see the field real well and can cut the holes. I think he will become part of J's wing T eventually but the upcoming sophmores have some speed too and there will be some competition for RB's

Good Luck and this is Just My IMO

By the way playoffs for the Upper division will be played tonight and Thursday will be the Championship.
